Bernice scarf on emmerdale

Why does Bernice always wear that awful scarf for? It was once covered in spray tan but survived!

I know Rodney wears thst choker thing for personal reasons in real life but there's no info on Bernice scarf

Why does Rodney wear the choker?

I can't take Bernice seriously since she turned up at Andy and Katie's wedding in her own wedding dress!
And that day the way she was washing the doctors hair was just odd!
