Does anyone want to chat about the Big British Asian Summer programmes on atm? I'm looking forward to the Searching for Mum ones. DH was enjoying the Recipes That Made Me one tonight.

Yes, finding them fascinating, I particularly enjoyed the Punjabi episode of Recipes That Made Me - the food looked delicious and loved the family gatherings. Found the programme about ship passengers fascinating too. I wish this kind of thing could be shown more regularly though - Empire was such a huge part of British history and so woven into everything.

Tonight’s episode on adoption was excellent and it was sad that only one of the participants found their mother, hopefully the publicity generated be the show will help her find her mother in the future. It didn’t appear that Ria’s mother had married and had any more chidren, wonder if she had a difficult time living with the stigma of having a child out of wedlock.

I'm really liking the season. I felt really sorry for the husband on the Searching for mum. He was obviously struggling with his MS but trying to support his wife.

It was sad how she was so bitter toward her adoptive parents and almost estranged from them. I do hope if she does find her birth family they live up to her expectations and bring her happiness and peace.

I would have hoped she should be using her energy up on making wonderful memories with her children and their dad. He really did seem to be struggling, but bless him, was by her side all the way.

I've just started watching Searching for Mum on catch up... people's stories are so interesting and sad sometimes.
