Netflix recommendations for a 9 yo girl

DD (nearly 10) doesn't watch a lot of tv normally. However, she's got a bit more time at the moment as it's school holidays.

She's not sure what to watch on Netflix.

Any recommendations?

TIA

Anne With An E is based on Anne of Green Gables and is lovely viewing.

MrsSFirth · 05/08/2018 09:02

Thank you. I'll see if she fancies that.

A series of unfortunate events is great, if she doesn't mind some dark humour.

Film wise I enjoyed Be Somebody
And
Monte Carlo (both are PGs)

There’s also Chalet Girl (that’s a 12). I think there’s some bare bum cheeks and mention of sex but nothing too out there, I don’t think.

DD1 (10) watches Mako Mermaids, (Australian mermaids and their goings on)

Victorious (it's a 12 but DD1 has been watching it and it's fine, was only changed to a 12 recently) Sounds a bit like Fame from what DD1 says!

The Next Step is a huge favourite! (dancing)

Free Rein (horsey programme)

She's been watching these for a couple of years now and they're all fine for her.

Troll hunters is a good family cartoon series it's not grown up at all but it's too babyish either.

We watched it with 14 year old DSS

Truckingonandon · 05/08/2018 10:05

Alice through the looking glass.

Scrolblewomp · 05/08/2018 10:25

Free Rein although she may need a passing interest in horses and Lemony Snicketts.

MrsSFirth · 05/08/2018 10:28

Thanks.

These are all really good recommendations.

Yes she loves horses.

Alexa and Kate. My nearly nine year old watches it over and over...

Pinkkahori · 12/08/2018 10:30

My 9 and 12 year olds loved Sugar Rush - it's a baking programme.

Not Netflix, but if you have Amazon prime Just add Magic is really good (S1 is better than 2 and 3 but they're all pretty good!)

musicinspring1 · 15/08/2018 20:55

I watch Victorious with Dd8 and didn’t realise it was a 12 - I can’t think of anything in it that would warrant that Confused
She also likes the mermaid one a pp mentioned , Richie Rich , Sam and Cat , MC 2 and sponge bob square pants !

Heismyopendoor · 15/08/2018 20:56

My dd enjoys mako mermaids (I actually really like it too!) and the next step
