I really enjoyed the first series. This one has moved to SF. What do we think so far?

There's another series?!

I just discovered the first two recently and really loved them. Thanks for the heads-up!

Clionba · 27/07/2018 11:45

Yes, I really loved the first two series. This one is itv Weds 9pm, I watched it on iplayer. Only two of the original cast, Julie Graham and Rachael Stirling. See what you think.

I've just downloaded & set series link. Looking forward to it!

drquin · 27/07/2018 11:52

I missed the original series .... does anyone know if they're on catch-up? Thanks

Clionba · 27/07/2018 12:02

Doesn't look like it. I could only see the first episode of this series. Someone gave me the others on dvd.

@drquin they were all on sky box sets. I only finished them about a week ago.

drquin · 27/07/2018 13:06

Great, thanks!

Blostma · 27/07/2018 13:08

Lucy Mangan absolutely slated it in the paper, and she is usually pretty reliable.

Clionba · 27/07/2018 13:15

Yes, she did slate it. I enjoyed it, but then I like all these detective type programmes, and I thought it was quite compelling.

I think bringing in the American angle and some US characters gives it quite a refreshing new twist, and I particularly like the fact that the main characters are all women.

However, and I realise I may have missed something, is there any reason why they shouldn't just contact the San Francisco police and tell them about the potential link to the wartime case in the UK?

Eggzandbacon · 27/07/2018 13:22

I’m glad it back but I don’t know why they have set it in SF when they can’t afford to film it there. Why not do a UK based story.

Clionba · 27/07/2018 13:23

Yes, I like the fact that it's all women. I don't know why they didn’t go to the SF police. Maybe they were trying to keep Bletchley secrets?

GnotherGnu · 27/07/2018 20:35

You're right, Clionba, that must be it. People who worked at Bletchley weren't allowed to say so for decades.

Clionba · 02/08/2018 10:01

Well that got wrapped up quickly! I didn’t realise there were only two episodes.

There's a new story line next week.
I checked as I couldn't believe there were only two episodes either.

Clionba · 02/08/2018 15:10

I didn't realise that there was another story next week. Thanks for that.

Ahh so this is why I don't have any idea what's happening! Didn't realise there had been previous series.

ExBbqQueen · 25/08/2018 18:51

I enjoyed this.

Liked the SF angle & 4 female leads.

Thought it showed very well, how clever women had to go back in their box once the war was over.

Gersemi · 26/08/2018 15:03

I liked the two American women, and I must say the actor who plays Iris is utterly beautiful.
