Anyone else at the same point and want to chat? I don't want to see any of the main Outlander threads for fear of spoilers!!

I've just finished episode 10 of season 2, and have developed an unhealthy obsession with it! Absolutely love this programme

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 19/07/2018 18:03

Yes, me too. Completely obsessed. Have reached ep 3 of season 3 now. I can't believe I discovered it so late.
What's just happened in the episode you've seen?

Just had Prestonpans. I'm glad they are back in Scotland now as I didn't enjoy the France episodes quite as much. Pretty sure season 2 won't have a happy ending though. Season 4 comes out in November,

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 19/07/2018 18:09

Yeah Versailles seemed to taint them somehow. They are so much more suited to the fresh Highland air.

Cannot wait till Nov !! Which channel does it come on?

I got up to getting back to scotland and preparing for battle. Im a bit bored compared to season 1. Im sad she ends up back in 1945 or whatever. Still watching slowly. Jamie is still gorgeous. Theyve made him more aristocratic and influential this season dont you think?

I found the french bits nice to look at, good costumes and sets, but even more batshit / silly stories than season 1.

Its always been very slow going. I want to know more about how she is going to get back to the future pregnant and what happens when she gets there to get back to Jamie (because she must!!). Im impatient.

Plus ive seen so much of the actor who plays Frank as Black Jack Randall that I now hate Frank. I am keen to find out how Black Jack Randall marries Mary Whatnot. Seems he'd rather have young boys.

Anyone planning to have a look at the books? Wonder if they're good.

We started watching it recently and I am totally obsessed! I have watched all three seasons (twice!) now and started reading the books-I’m on book 6 now. I can’t believe these books have been around for twenty odd years and I didn’t know about them!

I love the scenery, the costumes, the storyline, the time travelling, the history. Oh, and Jamie Fraser!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 20/07/2018 13:25

Yes!!
Most of all Jamie Fraser :)

But also, Scotland. And great music. And history.

Definitely read the books-they are superb!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 20/07/2018 13:47

Already downloaded preview of number 1 :)
This may be one of those odd cases where I'm happy to have seen the series before, as I'll be visualising the proper Jamie and Claire :)

I have read and enjoyed the first book, which was very close to the tv series. The second book starts differently, but I haven't read much of that. It's making me homesick for Scotland and my partner says it is making him feel guilty for being English 🤣. (I think he should just feel guilty for not being Jamie!!)

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 20/07/2018 19:45

Haha!!

Let me know when I can talk about the episode Whisky and Freedom!! Don't want to spoil it for anyone.

OP posts:
Florabella · 22/07/2018 22:18

Which episode is whiskey and freedom? I have just watched s3 ep1.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 22/07/2018 22:20

I think it's season 3 episode 2 or 3.

ShowOfHands · 22/07/2018 22:21

The books are fairly enjoyable tosh. They go rapidly downhill after the first three and desperately need a good editor. But they pass the time tolerably.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 22/07/2018 22:24

Sorry, it's episode 5, season 3.

OP posts:
Florabella · 23/07/2018 07:03

I should be able to discuss that one soon. I found episode 1 a bit slow going, and the aftermath of Culloden was desperately sad.

Florabella · 28/07/2018 09:21

Have just finished episodes 5 and 6 last night (couldn't put it off after the ending to episode 5!)
