Have started due to this thread. Didn’t realise it was the girl from Faking it until 2 episodes in.
Am liking it so far. Except the affair with the older exec.

Jay55 - I’ve never seen faking it. I don’t mind that older exec relationship although his mouth moves weirdly when he talks.

Saw a little bit of backlash on social media about the most recent episode with Kat making particular choices. Don’t want to say too much as I don’t want to spoil it.

I love it - it feels like SATC if Miranda were writing it (or was the main character). Remember when Miranda tries to get everyone interested in her new Palm Pilot (NB for younger readers, kind of like a smartphone that couldn't make phone calls) and gets totally hacked off with the fact everyone else just wants to talk about boys? The women in The Bold Type are really passionate about their careers, not just boys (or indeed girls).

I also love the fact the boss is not some kind of Miranda Priestley knock-off (fabulous as Meryl is in that role).

Yes tribpot I think that’s one of the things I liked most. The sort of insinuation that she might be a bit of a hard boss but actually is super fair and quite inspirational.

Tribpot - you've got it spot on. Their relationships are part of the prog but their careers seem like the bigger story.

KTD27 - I’ve watched the most recent episode but didn’t notice the backlash on social media. Mixed thoughts on the storyline - felt it was a bit rushed but on the other hand was maybe a true reflection of how one of the female characters could be feeling (is that vague enough?!?)
