Yes! OMG, I love this show. Just got the episode with Olga. It’s joyous.

boatyardblues · 04/07/2018 22:36

(Would love to discuss when everyone’s caught up, especially to discuss the hotel dinner with the network head.)

boatyardblues · 06/07/2018 00:04

I have now watched the whole series. ‘Tis great.

Andylion · 06/07/2018 14:37

I have up before the end of the first episode. I guess you'd all suggest another try?

boatyardblues · 06/07/2018 19:09

You need to stick with it. It’s definitely a grower - takes a while for all the undercurrents & subtext to make themselves known.

Glad to see this thread! No-one else I know watched GLOW!

I love it. Have finished season 2 (is there to be a third?)

Hotel dinner was skin crawling. Awful. So glad she got away. What an absolute creep.

Also, I know it was her character but I just found Ruth so fucking wet. “Anything I can do to help? Yes Sam, no Sam, 3 bags full Sam” ultimately I do like her and she was a pivotal role in the show but that aspect of her personality really rankled.

Debbie’s reaction really got me. Daring writing and not easy viewing.

I love Sam and Ruth’s mutual admiration, his love-hate-envy reaction to her covert brilliance and their utter fuckwittedness about the whole thing. It’s kind of brilliant because I honestly have no idea how it will play out. They could be a dynamite pairing as creatives if only he’d get over his ego.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 06/07/2018 19:54

Debbie was brutal. I totally expected it from her though. Tbh I expected it from Sam too.

DH and I found a GLOW documentary on Netflix. It was a real thing in the 80s and it is way trashier and more outrageous than the drama version. It’s a hoot! DH wants to go to bed but can’t tear himself away. Grin

Season 2 was even better than season 1. Love this show.

CheekyRedhead · 04/08/2018 12:01

I found Ruth so annoying but did enjoy glow

GodivaEater · 05/08/2018 19:19

Is it quite wrong that I’ve got a major crush on Marc Maron?!

MaggieAndHopey · 13/08/2018 13:17

If that's wrong I don't want to be right!

I thought this series was, if anything, better than the first. Loved the weird way that Debbie breaking Ruth's leg kind of settled things between them - their friendship will probably never be what it was, but it felt like a debt had been paid somehow, and that argument in the hospital felt like a big cathartic release.

The other episode I loved was Debbie getting drunk and selling everything in her house. Also Tamme and her son: I thought that whole storyline was so moving, and it was very hard to watch her performing in front of him, the humiliation of her character turning into actual humiliation.

I very much want there to be a Vegas season three.

gaggiagirl · 13/08/2018 13:18

Oh I love glow so. Much. Glad to find like minded people!

AngelsAckiz · 26/08/2018 21:48

Love GLOW! It had me from the very first scene where she is auditioning for a part in a tv show. So very true!

Loved the episode with Olga. Loved every minute of that series! Also watched the documentary afterwards and I just love them more now!
