Maybe he’ll try and do a runner on the boat like his dad did but at the same time Mark is throwing an engagement ring for Elly into the sea and mermaid Dee jumps up to catch it. The boat crashes into her and the ring flies out of her hand smacking Cassius in the head and he lies on the deck unconscious with a cubic zirconia indentation on his forehead. Dee clings to the railings just as Mishti turns up with Toadie, who was on a mission to offer his legal services to Cassius at his arrest. Toadie sees Dee in all her merglory. He takes her to the hospital to be examined and Karl decides to set up a mermedical research centre. Sonya is won over when Dee gives her a kelp peace offering.

Meanwhile, as Mark picks up the ring and leaves the scene of the arrest (taking credit for it and asking for his job back). As he walks away he calls Elly to propose immediately feeling fate has given him a second chance. But in the background we see a lizard scuttle across the dock...

Can someone explain how Cassis knew where piper and gabe were in order to rescue them? I thought it was the other woman who sailed off with piper and kidnapped gabe? Louise? The one with the allergy. Are they suggesting Louise and cassis and his mother were all in it together? I'm v confused

@Smidge001 it's something about Hammish treating Louise badly and Cassius feeling sorry for her / wanting to rectify the situation.

I presume Dipi has been innocently helping Clive with a romantic surprise for Sheila, but there will be rumours afoot about it being something more.

It's all a bit unlikely though, isn't it. How would cassius even know hamish was treating Louise badly if he'd lived in england/Paris or wherever it was for ages and his mother and hamish had clearly separated years and years ago.

I’m not sure how long his mum was in Paris for but I’m assuming he never lived there. Even if he knew about Louise taking the boat and Piper being in it he’d have had to have been watching with his binoculars to figure out when and where Piper jumped into the water and then where she washed up to save her.

Even if he knew the former you can’t lredict the latter well that’s why coastguards can take ages to find people if at all...

The bit of the storyline which doesn’t quiet add up is I’m sure that passive drowning (ie going into the water unconscious) versus someone holding your head under and a struggle would result in different pathology. In the flashbacks Hamish definitely struggles. Not that neighbours lets the truth get in the way of a storyline.

Wasn’t it just that Clive swept Sheils’s bag of groceries off the picnic bench in his moment of passion, and the eggs broke? Sheila said “the eggs!” then they got it on

No, I think she said she left him on his own in the apartment, because she didn’t think she’d be long. She assumed she’d just get the money/passport then tell Mark where to find Gabe. She was gobsmacked when told Gabe wasn’t in the apartment and insisted she didn’t have an accomplice. Cassius had to break into the apartment with a credit card, didn’t he? I think someone said Louise lived in that block of apartments anyway. Maybe Cassius was skulking about following her and realised she’d taken Gabe. He knew Gabe’s name though, I wonder if that was because he’d been following/spying on the Brennans for ages?

I’m not sure how he knew where Piper was, maybe he just happened upon her as he was hiding out in the bush after killing Hamish.
