Prime/Netflix comedy recommendations

I'm looking for a new series to watch that's in a mockumentory style or dry humour.

I love Parks and Recreation, This Country, The IT Crowd, and I'm just finishing watching People Just Do Nothing.

I thought The Good Place, Arrested Development, Fresh Meat and Last Man on Earth were good, but not as funny as those listed above.

What else might I enjoy?

The Good Place. Make sure you stick through it through S1. Everything changes. Its on Netflix.

LawDegreeBarbie · 02/06/2018 12:24

I didn't see you'd mentioned The Good Place!

The US Office is incredible but not on UK Netflix or Prime. Worth watching if you stream though! New Girl is also great in its earlier seasons but also not available.

Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia or Brooklyn 99.

Toast of London. Honestly the best thing I've watched for a long time.

bananaramasllama · 02/06/2018 12:26

Brooklyn 99! Same creator as Parks and Rev

Usuallytootiredbuthappyanyway · 02/06/2018 12:29

Life in pieces on prime 👍🏻

Jaimx86 · 02/06/2018 18:43

Thank you. I think we're going to start with Toast of London, and then start to work the way through the rest of your recommendations.

I came here to say Parks but you've mentioned it in your OP!

I'd like to give a shoutout to Lovesick. Much better than I thought it would be.

Please watch Fleabag on iPlayer we seem like we have the same taste and I thought it was amazing

Good Place, US Office, Brooklyn 99 and Parks all share the same writing/production team which is quite an achievement really

Cocolepew · 02/06/2018 20:39

Its always sunny in Philadelphia

TeaAndNoSympathy · 02/06/2018 20:41

Crazy Ex Girlfriend on Netflix.

IWantMyHatBack · 02/06/2018 20:51

30 Rock if you can find it anywhere.

secretmeetingsundertrees · 09/06/2018 22:30

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix is brilliantly, gloriously, daft

Febe123 · 16/06/2018 21:04

Raised by wolves on channel 4 was brilliant

yogaginrepeat · 17/06/2018 08:08

Master of None, Love?

TeachesOfPeaches · 17/06/2018 08:11

The American office is on Prime but you have to pay for it, as is 30 Rock. Highly recommend Peep Show on Netflix.

MadisonAvenue · 17/06/2018 08:13

Life In Pieces on Prime

n0ne · 17/06/2018 08:22

The Letdown

RaymondHolt · 17/06/2018 08:25

30 Rock - was on prime
Brooklyn Nine Nine
The Letdown

EyeDrops · 17/06/2018 08:33

Definitely Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Different sort of thing, but Jane the Virgin is really very funny. (Netflix)

moptophairshop · 17/06/2018 08:55

American Vandal might be worth a watch. It’s a true-crime satire & not the sort of thing I would usually go for (I love Parks & Recs, Life in Pieces etc...) but I found it quite funny.

bonfireheart · 17/06/2018 09:20

Schitts Creek

SergeantPfeffer · 17/06/2018 09:47

Atlanta on iPlayer. Slightly surreal with some great characters (Darius!). It’s not remotely like the detectorists (it’s about a rapper trying to make it in Atlanta, there is some violence) but it’s in that vein of quiet comedy about pretty ordinary people bimbling on in life.

StickyPokeyThing · 24/06/2018 21:03

The Santa Clarita Diet with Drew Barrymore
The Good Place definitely
Grace and Frankie
I’ve watched these over and over 😀

northernlites · 24/06/2018 21:04

Life in Pieces is great Smile

SyrilSneer · 24/06/2018 21:08
