These are both Netflix originals. In the US corner Timeless (season 2 been picked up by Channel 4 though). In the European corner, Spanish El Ministerio. I loved S1 of Timeless & only started watching El Ministerio to kill an hour earlier this week. It is surprisingly enjoyable and, dare I say it, rather less earnest and po-faced than Timeless. I’m liking the swashbuckling and lotharios. Lucy and Emilia might as well be the same character, though, and both trios have a trusty, battle hardened soldier. There is also a dead wife. I see a lot of parallels, but also some differences. The similarities make me wonder if one was the rewrite of the other. Anyone else watched both?
