Andrew Lincoln leaving after series 9.

I knew he wouldn’t want to stick around long after they axed Chandler. Axing his tv kid who he was attached to just made him miss his own even more I my book.

Can it go on for much longer?

It also says he’s only in 6 episodes of series 9 so whether that means he exited in ep 6 or there are some eps without him (I can see them doing an ep or two with the new community like they did with Tara and Oceanside) I don’t know.

Oh and Lauren Cohen is only in 6 eps this season too and not sure whether she’ll stay after that or just continue with less eps.

Well tbh, the last series was so utterly shit that something has to change. Dh and I have watched all the previous series several times, but we've been so disappointed with the dull storyline and lack of action in the last one that we're not sure we're even going to watch the next series anyway. I like the way Rick and Daryl play off each other though, so they'll need to find another character for Daryl to have some interaction with, considering he barely said 3 words in the whole of season 8.

Well they’re saying he’s going to be the lead. I can’t see how that will work. As you say he will munmble a few lines, he’s a lone wolf so why would he lead.

Michonne is obviously going to either not be around for long or have limited stuff as last season did due to her Marvel commitments but also she will be high demand.

I wonder if they will give Rick Ezekiel’s death and keep Ezekiel as leader but we follow Daryl.

I enjoyed the last half of last season though

I think all the action centred on the last couple of episodes, which was disappointing. Too many monologues, too many groups (i started to forget who was who! ), too many disjointed scenes going backwards and forwards. ..I liked Ezekiel when he first came in it but his dialogue annoyed me after a while.

Supposedly Norman Reedus is getting £20 million for the next series, he probably needs it with a baby on the way!

Yeah, I wonder if it will be on the move again to find the helicopter peeps. I haven’t watched S4 of FTWD yet.

I really couldn't get on with FTWD, managed to get halfway through season 2 but just couldn't get into the characters. The main family seemed too 'rich spoiled kids with problems' iyswim. Whereas I find TWD has characters from all backgrounds. Did it improve any by season 3?

Yeah, they were arseholes but season 3 was much better. Towards the end of S2 I started to like Nick and Strand but Madison in particular was a bugbear. S3 she becomes better and quite badass. Alicia is better too.

I hated series 1 but it ended on an interesting note with the boat. I only pushed through for the crossover though.

Although I think they have rewritten Madison completely in S3 giving her a past that you cannot see at all in S1 so I think they knew how poorly she was being recieved. It’s easier for younger characters to evolve.

I really enjoyed season 3 of Fear. Sorry to hear Andrew is leaving but 9 years is a long time.

Are Norman and Diane Kruger still together? I thought he was seeing Melissa McBride.

I loved Daryl in earlier seasons but if he gets 20 million for a couple of grunts and zero character development that’s crazy!

I can’t see the show lasting past Rick. I think Gimple pretty much destroyed it and these are its death throes.

I an't say I'm surprised or upset.

I agree the last season was so dull and crap. So much introspection and mumbling and very little action or plot / character development. Rick was, imo, the very worst thing about the whole series.

TBH I am glad he is going, some new blood might liven it up a bit (pardon the pun there), even Daryl went down last series and the whole series was just so bloody DEPRESSING!! Now they need to put Neagan in charge and really stir the pot.

Or cancel it entirely, I honestly think it has come to the natural conclusion.

Also how do they all not have grey hairs & roots showing & who is doing their nails etc? Considering the world has basically ended they look bloody good for it, where is all the fuel for the cars coming from because in the beginning they were always struggling to find it AND who was in the helicopter - that never got answered did it???

And when did they stop looking for a cure for the sickness?

Oh whole can of worms opened now......I have SO many unanswered questions......

They stopped looking for a cure when they went to that science place right at the beginning and the guy told Rick (?) that they all had it anyway.

The helicopter is meant to be unanswered...

I’m not that suprised though. The last 2 seasons...no, 3 seasons have been so crap I’ve gone off it. My dh got into twd right before the second half of season 8 and watching all those early episodes just reminded how good the storylines were.

They should just end it now.

Agree, HayeSummer, about the last few seasons.

Such a shame as the earlier seasons were some of the best television I’be Ever seen.
