Not much longer to wait out for the Nigeria episodes! Some of us are still mourning the death of Elvis.

It's at times like these that I miss the likes of Woof Sad

Rhubarb01 · 07/06/2018 23:12

Oh yes, dear old woof. Are you out there somewhere? We really need your wit and wisdom. Goodness how I miss those feisty exchanges between Prudie and Cap'n Poldark's mount 'Darkie'.

Rhubarb01 · 07/06/2018 23:14

Interestingly, going completely off subject, I heard Chris Evans talking to the horse trainer from Poldark on the radio this week and it is rumoured that Aiden Turner's horse , really called Seamus, is deliberately a bit on the small side to make AT/Cap'n Poldark look bigger.

kazzaD66 · 07/06/2018 23:19

Anyway, enough musings from me. I'll say goodnight and will dream of CJ in his No.1 dress uniform or indeed, out of it with his polished sword, in honour of woof GrinBlush

Rhubarb01 · 07/06/2018 23:22

Indeed Kazza and I will think of him as a fully functioning soldier!

MissEliza · 08/06/2018 07:59

Thanks Kazzs

eejittwo · 09/06/2018 18:16

Couple of thoughts, ladies.

  1. Could the Bones / CJ 'history' mean that could be the main story line and how CJ works out his future? E.g. - he doesn't fancy turning into someone like Bones?
  2. What do you reckon Georgie continues to have flashbacks - including of being rescued by Elvis. Could someone open a book on that?
Bonnefoi · 10/06/2018 15:03

I usually lurk (a lot) on this thread but decided to break cover to ask: is anyone desperately waiting for mentions of Molly in the new series. Or is it just me? Confused

Magi84 · 10/06/2018 15:58

Welcome Bonnefoi. I can quite categorically tell you that you are not alone in avidly waiting for a mention of Molly. I thought in the Nepal Tour it might have happened with CJ and Captain Azizi before it all went pear shaped, and in last week's episode I thought at the point where he called Fingers a cockwomble Molly might have been spoken about, but no. At one stage I was hoping LT had maybe done a bit of face time or Skype with CJ but guess Eastenders producers might not like that idea or even LT herself. All seems such a shame as those two were great together in series one.

So we continue to live in hope😊

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2018 16:28

Welcome Bonnefoi. I am on tenterhooks about Molly being mentioned as I'm really worried that we'll hear bad news about their relationship. I'm hoping it's just a combination of world-weariness, limited time together (despite that rather glowing reference of being married to a serving soldier in series 2 - probably the first flush of marriage not long after the honeymoon) and the realisation that his first marriage failed because of his absence/army service and that has resulted in limited time and contact with young Sam. I hope he's beginning to feel its time to set down permanent roots and have a serious conversation about a family of their own - women get maternity leave now so Molly doesn't have to give up her career. In my head I'm working on that farewell scene when Charles finally quits the army for good and for the very best of reasons.

Oh please don't upset us all TG. It would tarnish the memory of series 1 forever with me if I thought CJ and Molly didn't survive as a couple.

eejit - I'm all for as many lovely flashbacks of Elvis as possible and hope it includes climbing through the window of Georgie's bedroom the night before their not-to-be wedding when Georgie attacks him and he has to fight his way out of trouble and......

P.S. yes, I'd give you evens that there will one or two more before this series is done.

Magi84 · 10/06/2018 16:47

Rhu your mention of flashbacks has made me think it wouldn't go amiss to have a flashback of CJ and Molly either at the checkpoint or even the restaurant. Would be nice in one of his more reflective moments in an episode. Not likely though as they like to keep the focus on the star of the show and her flashbacks I think.

Rhubarb01 · 10/06/2018 17:11

ooh...yes...or Rosabaya!!

eejittwo · 10/06/2018 22:37

Rhu - just had to re-watch that scene again, since you reminded me. Grin

kazzaD66 · 11/06/2018 19:31

Aaahhh, wasn't BA lovely on Lorraine this morning, with his haircut and grandad shirt Smile. So Molly is still a "very present" character? Hhmm, not present enough for my liking!

Magi84 · 11/06/2018 20:00

Yes Kazza he was looking at his best and I thought it was a good interview. I enjoyed it more than the one on BUILD. Of course he had to defer to MK on that one but today he came over well and I felt when he mentioned Molly this time he was more definite about them still being together although 'struggling'. So I'm hoping that is just them having to handle PTSD or whatever.

Alwaysfrank · 11/06/2018 20:40

I can't keep away even though I might see a spoiler, as I've not watched yet!! Just wanted to say I googled to find the Lorraine interview and in doing so found a radio times article saying that Molly and CJ have a child! They really don't know what they're talking about do they?

kazzaD66 · 11/06/2018 21:38

I think it was the same with the Express last week. There were headlines online saying that CJ had dropped a "massive bombshell" that he and Molly had a child, when it was Sam he was talking about. If these journos don't watch the shows they shouldn't bother writing about them Angry

Ilovelblue · 12/06/2018 10:40

Morning everyone. I've been reading but not posting as I've been spending as much time as possible getting the garden ready I've been doing for a local disabled charity as they have an open day at the end of the month. I'm more or less done now and the warm weather has been good for being able to work on it constantly but not so good in that everything is very dry and has needed watering almost daily with the plants being new. I've grown most of the plants myself as well over the past few months so it's been a real labour of love.

Bonnefoi welcome to the madness of our thread.

I loved the interview with Lorraine (had to catch up with it later yesterday on iplayer or whatever). What a difference in BA. He seemed so confident when those of us who have followed OG from the beginning heard him on that poor Radio 1 interview with Smurf (can't spell his real name). Oh and that dreadful diarrhoea coloured jacket. Yes, his clothes were an improvement too yesterday.

Bit fed up of the negative stuff around MK.

Very much looking forward to tonight's episode. Maybe "see" some of you on here after it's aired.

I will be recording and watching back tomorrow when I am home alone, but doubt I will be able to stay away from this thread and other social media this evening Wink. Let's hope it's a good one with lots of CJ Grin

Flowerfan · 12/06/2018 12:24

Hi
Still around and reading your comments. I agree I loved the interview with Lorraine yesterday recorded it on catch up, as I missed it in the morning. Have watched it more than once!!!! Looking forward to tonight

Magi84 · 12/06/2018 12:33

Hi Flower good to see you back. Hope things are better for you. Hoping that to tonight's episode will move things along in a way that appeals to all of us.

I happened to see the actress who plays Richards in an Australian programme (The Heart Guy) and she had such a strong Aussie accent I kept wondering if I'd got it right that it was her. Confirmed it in the cast list at the end. So she is certainly versatile.

Also saw a profile of Olly Rix (Bones) where it said he had originally auditioned for the part of Captain James in the first series but had lost out to BA. 😳

Ilovelblue · 12/06/2018 16:32

Glad to see you on here Flower.

Magi my secret guilty pleasure (apart from CJ and OG) is to watch Doctors at lunchtime. It's trash really but I have quite got into it and even record it when I'm not around. Yesterday, I realised I recognised the voice of an actress, an older lady who was hoarding all her medication. It took me a few minutes to suss where I had seen her before and then I remembered it was in episode 4 of S2 of OG where Elvis and his team go onto the bus where Abu has planted his bomb. Elvis asks her if it's her rucksack and she says "What? With my back?" It still makes me laugh as it's exactly the sort of thing my Mum would have said.

I too read that Bones had auditioned for CJ's part.

Here's hoping it's a good episode tonight!

BTW - the preview in the Metro this morning acknowledged 'snooty critics' complaining it wasn't realistic, but pointed out it is primetime tv drama, not a documentary!

Ilovelblue · 12/06/2018 19:13

That's good to know eejit. I have a friend who is a wedding registrar. She said that recent Love, Lies and Records wasn't realistic but was still good drama.

Rhubarb01 · 12/06/2018 22:08

Evening! Well, there's a lot to dissect in that episode. Bones made me laugh because at times it was like having a snooty TV critic embodied within his character - reminding them all that they were stupid and remarking to CJ "How profound!" I suppose we're supposed to find his rough diamond appealing but he made CJ look a bit weak and wilting and as for the Sword of Honour - what was it you were talking about the other evening Kazza? Now we know it is definitely true that he possesses one Grin. As for Georgie barking instructions to CJ as to what to do at the hostage handover, what is the matter with him?

I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy the episode, despite a few throwbacks to other series, but there were times I found myself shouting "For goodness sake, CJ!". Rab and Maisie still make me laugh, though.

A little worried that the injured soldier next week is CJ!
