My Freeview box always buggers up my recordings of big Channel 4 dramas, but works fine for everything else. What's going on?

As the title says. My Freeview plus box records everything perfectly, except Channel 4 dramas. Last year it ruined every recording I tried to make of The Handmaids Tale and now it's doing the same with Humans. It records, but the recording constantly jumps and loses sound. Recordings of every other channel are perfect and I think, although I can't swear to it, that even other types of C4 programmes are OK (I think I must have recorded other c4 programmes - I just can't think of any specifically). It's just the big dramas. Does this happen to anyone else?

This happens to me, but I've noticed it is mainly things I record on itv2 and sometimes itv and everything else is okay, although I've not watched my recordings of Handmaid's Tale yet so they might have same issue. I rescan but it doesn't seem to make a difference, it is so annoying. I end up watching what I recorded on catch up to fill in the gaps. Sorry I've no solution, hopefully someone else will be along with an answer.

Does your box have a HD feature? Do you use it?

I have trouble if I series link in HD.

I have a Humax box.

Thanks for the replies. At least that rules out one possible scenario - that C4 deliberately do something to their programmes to encourage people to watch live and so not miss the ads.

BG2015 - I doubt my (also Humax)box has an HD feature (it's quite old, and if it does I certainly don't use it), but I shouldn't think it's anything to do with that as stuff that must be in HD (Poldark?} on other channels is fine.

Mine is a Humax box too but it doesn't have HD and it happens whether I series link or record individual shows, but interesting Humax seems to be a common factor.

Freeview did some re-tuning of the signals that we receive - we lost some channels (inc. some C4 ones). I had to retune about 3 weeks ago.

You can change your settings on a Humax to record an extra few minutes at the end of each programme, even with linked series I think.

Thanks Cecily, but it's can't be the tuning as I can watch the programme live without problems, and it's nothing to do with losing bits at the beginning and end, it's most of the middle that's the problem!

I probably should buy a new box to see if that helps, but it's a lot of money to spend 'just to see' and it might be nothing to do with the box.

Google throws up nothing on this matter unfortunately.
