This looks quite good. I fancy watching this and posting running commentary as I finish each episode. Anybody watching? Here's the trailer:

I am excited about this - Harlan Coben is one of my favourite authors

gerbilforlife · 11/05/2018 18:10

I just started watching it and I am on episode 3 now. I was pleased to see Michael C Hall appearing in something new, as he was great in Six Feet Under and Dexter. I am finding I am distracted listening to his accent as I am so used to hearing an american one.
Anyway, I will wait and see where everyone is upto epsiode wise before I comment.

I've watched episode 1 + 2. Michael C Hall is doing a good british accent, I'm impressed.

The back drop is a bit midsummer murder esq with the blue skies and lots of green countryside. The houses are beautiful.

I'm enjoying the flash back story style slowly revealing individual character's back story and relationship's.

Is that young blonde DC Emma a stalker??

I'm rolling my eyes a bit at Sia and her mom and dad hiding the dead body and steps they are taking to cover their tracks.

I'm about to start watching episode 3.

Im sailing through them as I had the day to myself and on episode 6 already haha!

The new young DC turned out to be who I suspected.

Sia's family have this odd thing going on character wise, boarder lining on dark comedy, but not really good comedy.

dogzdinner · 11/05/2018 21:51

I'm enjoying it, it's different and I'm not sure it's taking itself too seriously.

CarysMa · 11/05/2018 21:54

Im enjoying it. Good one to binge 9n. Michael c hall does a good english accent imo

gerbilforlife · 11/05/2018 22:41

Yeah, I agree about Michael's accent, its pretty good indeed.

The stereotype of the irish man kicked out for drinking too much. Although maybe he doesnt drink as much as he makes out. He prefers to live in the caravan. I know a couple who have a beautiful house and the husband lives in an outhouse!

CarysMa · 12/05/2018 00:01

Just finished it. Very watchable.

I just looked up 'safe' by Harlan Coban and there doesn't seem to be a harlan coban book named safe Confused

dogzdinner · 12/05/2018 07:29

I was confused about that too. I'm sure in the credits it gives other names for the writers.

AlbertaSimmons · 12/05/2018 07:30

Started watching last night - is it meant to be a black comedy? We thought it was hilarious.

NurseButtercup · 12/05/2018 15:56

I fell asleep during episode three I'm blaming the vodka .

If you can stick with it seems to pick up from episode 4.

I have questions (not all relevant to the story):

Did you spot the continuity error in the train station platform scene between Jenny and the Irish husband. At the beginning of their exchange there was a train at the platform, by the time they'd finished chatting the train was gone 😁

If you lived on that street in that house would you agree to your husband living in the caravan on the drive? I bloody hell wouldn't!

Does anybody think that Zoe (Chris' mom) looks like one of the synth's from Humans with her haircut, colour and eye colour?

Sia is a brat (not a question).

Why did those two youths stab Pete? I don't understand?

@carysma

Harlan Coben hasn't written a novel called Safe, he co-wrote the script:

I'm ill and watching. I can't get over Dexter's English accent. It's pretty good.

dogzdinner · 12/05/2018 17:57

The main man and Marc Warren seem to have a lot of free time considering they're doctors Confused

SavageBeauty73 · 12/05/2018 18:06

I thought that. They've barely been at work.

Plus the family who moved the body etc is farcical. You would just ring an ambulance if you found a body in the swimming pool.

CarysMa · 13/05/2018 12:27

The two men who stabbed pete stabbed him because they had attempted to blackmail tom Delaney and then tom and pete followed them, got the money back and then tom and pete split up, they followed him and stabbed him. But you're right, in real life only the stoooopidest criminals would add attempted murder to a bungled blackmail, especially as tom knew that the man who ''masterminded' the blackmail was associated to the club heaven. So police would have tracked them in about ten minutes.

Dee03 · 13/05/2018 15:48

Just binge watched this and I loved it.

Florabella · 13/05/2018 20:01

Only seen the first three episodes so far, so haven't read the comments for fear of a spoiler. I'm really enjoying it and Hatrlen Coben's books are full of twists and turns until the very end, so I'm hopeful this is going the same way. Will rejoin when I have finished watching

calzone · 13/05/2018 20:04

Marc Warren looks gaunt.

Loved this series......it’s got a proper ending too.

cocoamore · 13/05/2018 21:46

Watching this now and on episode 6. Was supposed to try and get an early night but need to see this through!

purplepandas · 13/05/2018 22:03

Slsowatching episode six now. We binge watched last night. It's good.
