I’m loving this just finished episode 4 it’s very atmospheric

I was so looking forward to this. I loved the books, but they’ve changed far too much.

Hardly anything about Stevie & Cyrus, nothing about Mary’s muteness.

They’ve made Sara too wishy washy, and the sex scenes with Marcus????

I will watch the final few episodes as I’m stuck in hospital, but so disappointed

I've not read the books so am enjoying it for what it is. I may well read them when I've finished watching it.

If I hadn’t read the books I’d be raving about the series.

I know it’s hard to capture all the nuances of a book in s tv series, but they seem to have changed things for change sake IYSWIM??

I sort of liked it, but it feels very 21st century. I'm not sure that I can articulate it very well, but the attitudes and understanding of Laszlo are too modern, even for a well-meaning genius of the time. And the set pieces that don't advance the plot but are just in there to show how brutally mental health issues of the time were handled and how 'right' he is by comparison were distracting me. I've only watched three episodes, so I might go back to it.
