US medical drama on Fox.

Stars the guy who played Cary Argos on the Good Wife ((Matt Czuchry) and Amanda from Revenge (Emily VanCamp).

www.imdb.com/title/tt6483832/

I'm enjoying it.

Also shows the billing / financial pressures etc of working in a US hopsital

Is it better than the good doctor? Have yet to finish that it went off the boil a bit I think

Aridane · 29/04/2018 21:16

Ooh - I’ve only seen the 1 st episode of The Good Doctor, so can’t really comment.

Very different, I suspect. The Resident is quite adult and cynical

I will try and record and watch. Enjoying season two of the good fight currently. Was never really a cary fan though

Aridane · 29/04/2018 21:50

He’s better in The Resident

I am enjoying it.

I'm enjoying it. Was getting very frustrated with the bean counter bitch in last episode (what would her job title actually be??)

Scary how their healthcare is so money based.

melissasummerfield · 04/05/2018 19:12

I am watching, its the best new tv show i have watched for ages!

Aridane · 04/05/2018 20:19

I think it’s great - hard medical drama without the sentimentality that underpins many

Hello,
Where do you watch this? Is it on Netflix?

Aridane · 04/05/2018 21:46

I watch it via, ahem., streaming

Not sure where others watch it. It’s on Fox in the US but apparently also via BT tv according to google - “BT TV customers can look forward to three fantastic and thrilling US dramas this spring, which are all airing on the Universal Channel - BT TV channel 320/385 HD. The channel has the exclusive premiere rights for the medical series The Resident, the missing-person procedural Gone and a shocking six-part mystery series The Disappearance.“

Thank you @Aridane

RingtheBells · 05/05/2018 06:06

I watch it on Sky, Fox I think (uk). I haven’t watched this weeks yet as on hols and have limited Wi-fi and just freeview tv

praisedbebitch · 05/05/2018 10:34

I’m watching too Smile Recording it on Tivo from Universal channel.

I’m enjoying it but I had quite high expectations which it hasn’t met yet. Apparently it’s caught a bit of flak in the US for its depiction of hospital administration.

To the PP who asked, I think it’s much better than The Good Doctor which is shockingly predictable and trope-y. Other than the lead actor, I find it really cheesy and cringeworthy.

Anyway, I like The Resident so far, hoping it gets a second season as it’s one of those that will improve with time I think.

iheartmichellemallon · 05/05/2018 21:57

I really enjoy it.

welshmist · 09/05/2018 22:49

I can see why it is getting flak I am enjoying it, but have to avert eyes when it gets too realistic medically.

kateandme · 10/05/2018 14:13

can you imagine if someone wrote bout the cocky man on aibu yet on tv dramas and his love for Emily I think he awesome lol.

Graphista · 15/05/2018 21:10

Anyone trying to watch now? Just put universal on and I'm getting numb3rs. Sometimes they run late but it was meant to be law and order on before it I'm totally confused Confused

Graphista · 15/05/2018 21:12

Never mind looks like it's my app that's buggered again

niknac1 · 15/05/2018 21:26
