That’s awful news! The original run is my favourite ever tv programme. Reboots never work.

oldiebutgoodie · 25/04/2018 22:38

Ummmm. Not sure this will work. It was THE finest thing ever to be on tv.

You shouldn't go back. Sad

ValleyClouds · 25/04/2018 22:39

Yes it didn't go so well for Gilmore Girls but but but I want a universe were CJ is prez or something!

But you are right it would BADLY suck if it was terrible

This could be amazing or a disaster, I think I’ll wait for reviews before I risk it! It’s my most loved show of all time and I’d be gutted if it was awful, I still haven’t got over This Life being ruined Angry

ValleyClouds · 25/04/2018 22:51

The article I read suggested he was looking at Sterling K Brown as the lead.

So whereas we had an idealised Bartlet in the Bush era, everything that the sitting President wasn't it's like he's aiming for Obama nostalgia under Trump. Comfort food for Democrats

And he's already done that... and made further political critique in Newsroom, which was amazing til he got bored and stopped trying and spoiled it Sad

Hmmm, risky. They ran out of content by the end. Not sure a reboot is a good plan

On the plus side sky Atlantic have started showing two episodes a weekday. We're on series one at present and my stupid sky box didn't record big cheese day properly.

ValleyClouds · 25/04/2018 23:21

Nooo I was waiting for Sky to go back to Series 1

The thing is with Sorkin is that they were his characters and he was fired from the show, around season 4 I think so maybe feels like he wasn't done?

I’m only watching if Sam Seaborne is president!

88mph · 26/04/2018 08:46

I love this show SO MUCH. I'm always dubious about returns, like you said, Gilmore Girls wasn't so great.

They could do it well if it has a new cast and the old characters come in and out, they're not all going to still be in the White House.

I agree, I'll wait for reviews first.

Bobbybobbins · 26/04/2018 08:53

Hmm not sure but if it's good -

For me the moment it really jumped the shark was when Bartlett was in China and lying prone on a bed and they still carried on with the summit. I enjoyed the last series with the elections though. It's like watching old friends Grin

Loads more scenes of people walking quickly down corridors having meetings!!

Scribblegirl · 26/04/2018 08:57

Oh bobby that always makes me cry and I can suspend belief because I love it so (DDad has MS though so tend to project wildly on Bartlet. My dad’s not president, mind Grin)

One of my favourite ever shows. I share the skepticism about reboots but would give it a go. Agree Sam would ideally be president, to be honest I just want it back with the whole cast, no newbies thanks —and no bloody Mandy —

ShotsFired · 26/04/2018 09:15

Whoop! I'll give it a go while desperately hoping it doesn't suck like so many spin offs....

MipMipMip · 26/04/2018 11:21

No! Sam would be a TERRIBLE president! He's way too naive and opinionated. Plus he didn't like not getting a pay rise.Grin

Girlundercover · 26/04/2018 11:45

Well assuming Sam has matured in the intervening period of course.......

88mph · 26/04/2018 17:38

Two Cathedrals was the most moving episode. So powerful.

"Mr President, can you tell us right now if you'll be seeking a second term?"

Dozer · 26/04/2018 23:10

Not good news.
