That's awful news.

sheddooropen · 23/04/2018 14:20

I know he was really talented at cooking too :(

TeisanLap · 23/04/2018 15:30

I came in to see if anyone had posted about the tragic death of Matt.

What a horrible thing to have happened.

GreenStars · 23/04/2018 15:39

So sad, I loved him on masterchef. So young Sad

itstheyearzero · 23/04/2018 15:41

It must have been so gruelling. À man of his age and fitness shouldn't die running a marathon! I wonder why it went ahead given the temperature on the day?

This is very sad news. So talented. He was only 29!

Logged in to find this thread too. RIP Matt, you were a talent Flowers

sparklyheart · 23/04/2018 18:32

This is so sad; he was one of my favourites to win, he seemed so nice and had the most gorgeous dark brown eyes 😔

Pomegranatemolasses · 24/04/2018 00:12

Just came on to see if there was a thread about this - so sad. I feel quite shocked, it seems like no time since he was on TV.

AviatorShades · 24/04/2018 14:06

Awful newsSad

Did I read that he'd run another marathon just the week before? That heat during the London one was, for him, literally, a killer..

feel so much for his family and friends, it just shouldn't have happened

drinkingwinefeelingfine · 24/04/2018 14:38

Yes it's so awful. Poor man, he was so young. And running in memory of his dad.

I can't believe he died running a marathon. Is it a case of the body/heart being pushed too hard?

fussychica · 24/04/2018 16:03

I wondered if any of the regular Masterchef contributors would post. I was totally gobsmacked, when you've watched someone night after night for several weeks and seen the amazing work he did you feel like you know him just a little. So sad, such a waste of a life. Such a talent lost.
