I was so sorry to see Ben V-P. He is a lovely guy but drugs and alcohol have not been kind to him.

I had such a crush on Ben when I was 17. I used to see him around in Notting Hill.

I thought I had no chance. I look waaaay better than him now.

God Cecilia was irritating. She’s clearly intelligent, independent school educated, what’s with the Essex look? She’d look just right with Johnny Fuck Face from Love Island.

I may have said to DP "how the fuck are you better looking than Ben from Curiosity Killed the Cat."

Saw Curiosity killed the cat ( amongst other 80s groups)at Wembley arena about ten years ago.
Despite their fame being relatively short lived, they made some good songs, Ben had a good voice.

Unlike some of the rubbish music nowadays.

What was with the last ‘joke’?

Yeah seemed a daft joke.Ben could have paid the bloody bill though! He seems to be 52 going on 22, although he seems a genuine person.

I read that it was Ben's flatmate that put him in for First Dates. Doesn't sound like he's loaded.

Ben was just so cringe, his date was very attractive, but must have thought he'd had a hard paper round, sad when the effects of fame have such an impact on a person, lose the daft hat and poor jokes Ben?

I felt sorry for Ben but I can see why his date didn't want to take it any further. Didn't he say he'd been in rehab many times for drug and alcohol issues and yet he was drinking wine? Also that 'joke' was yucky.

Ben V-P was indistinguishable from Richard O'Brien of Rocky Horror/Crystal Maze fame. Who is 76 years old.
