What am I going to watch now?! They feel like the only brilliantly funny programmes with awesome female lead characters and are not about crime or fantasy worlds.

I started a love in thread for these two before and was recommended The Good Place which was a very good call. Anything else? I hope the network replace them with something similarly different.

Rachel Bloom says that season 4 of Crazy Ex Girlfriend will be the last and the article says that Jane the Virgin is likely to end after season 5. So one more season each.

I got bored of Kimmy part way through season 2 .

I've not seen Veep before so thanks for the recommendation. It's not on netflix and bloody Sky want me to pay £80 for the privilege of accessing all seasons. I'll keep an eye out for it though.

The last season of Crazy Ex Girlfriend was disappointing though. I think it’s gone as far as it can with the story, so one more season is enough to wrap it up.

I only got through about half a season of Jane the Virgin. Does it get better? I found it a little odd and couldn’t work out how they’d get so many series out of the premise.

Yes to Kimmy Schmidt and Apartment 23. Unfortunately, the latter only has two seasons which is a shame as it’s one of my favourite sitcoms.

Thanks for the Apartment 23 recently, I wasn't sure if it would be good or terrible. I'm completely over Kimmy - two seasons was plenty. Agree with the posts above, Veep is amazing although I found it's become more hard since Armando Iannucci (sp?) left. Jane the Virgin is well with the time to get into it. I love the relationship between Jane, her mom and her grandmother.

If you want something really off the wall with a female lead, try Lady Dynamite. It’s a real love it or hate it show, but I enjoyed seeing a female comic trying more surreal comedy. Maria Bamford who wrote and starred in the show is bipolar, and a lot of the story revolves around that. It’s just too weird to really describe!
