We all know that the writers read MN after all. Apparently it’s on at 8.30pm this eve?

"the best father a child could have" - Aidan? seriously? Eva is deluded. Not thinking she could raise the child when she lives with an extended family, has a job, half the money from the flat sale, is mature, is just not believable these days. The whole story line is just insulting to the viewers intelligence.

As for Peter has he not wanted to skype Jackie (the surrogate) in Dubai, see emails about progress, asked how they will get the baby? - is Jackie giving birth in Dubai , how would that affect registering the baby etc? Is Toyah just planning to show up at the pub with the baby and ignore the adoption procedure?

supersop60 · 12/04/2018 08:49

frilly - weren't they drinking shots out of the tiny glasses?

deadringer · 12/04/2018 10:35

Aidan acted very out of character I thought, he was pretty nasty even though Eva was clearly very distressed. If the baby was Adam's why would she lie about it. Adam is handsome and has a good job and he is crazy about Eva, it doesn't make sense. Now that she has told him there is no way she can just hand the baby over. It's a ridiculous story line and the sooner it's over the better.

Showergel1 · 12/04/2018 10:52

I think Rita went to visit Jenny in a similar house to Josh.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 12/04/2018 12:12

Adam would be a far better bet than Aidan!! Why on earth would she pretend it as Aidan’s If it was Adams?

One thing I don’t get is why everyone keeps going on about Aidan never forgiving Eva for what she did. Do they all forget why she did it?? That he was cheateing on her with Maria the man eater whilst she was supposedly pregnant (fake but he didn’t know that!) he’s the scumbag in that story and it looks like he is back to his scumbag ways going by last night’s performance. It seems getting his hands on the factory again has restored him to his original settings. He was being nice to her previously but where did that all go??

I keep thinking that too!

Hygge · 12/04/2018 16:42

When Aiden found out she was 'pregnant' though, didn't he end the affair?

Not excusing his cheating but I thought he did at least end the affair as soon as Eva told him she was pregnant. I might be remembering that wrong.

I think that since almost every adult on the street has cheated at some point, they find that more forgivable than Eva faking a pregnancy, holding a fake wedding, bankrupting Aiden and his Dad, making Aiden homeless, and putting most of her friends out of work for months in the process.

Hygge · 12/04/2018 16:46

And her fake wedding deliberately tried to ruin Jenny and Johnny's wedding too, plus Kirk and Beth are related to Maria so on her side rather than Eva's, and now they're all back working for Aiden.

I think all of that makes them more inclined to blame her. She hurt a lot of people that didn't deserve it, he only hurt her.

Yorkshirebetty · 12/04/2018 16:57

Some of the script writing is terrible - Peter and Toyah going into Roy's Rolls and Peter orders a can of orange (he owns a pub) and Toyah ordering an omelette (she's vegan)??!!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 12/04/2018 16:59

All good points hygge but he’s horrible!! Grin

Hygge · 12/04/2018 17:27

Yes, he is horrible.

But he's in plenty of company as far as cheaters on the street go, so I think that's why he's getting off lightly compared to Eva and her revenge.

deadringer · 12/04/2018 17:53

Yes and Zeedan is running a restaurant but he pops into Roy's rolls to get something for his lunch.Hmm I felt sorry for Toyah, her heart must have been breaking when she told Eva to tell Aidan about the baby. ( And yes I do know it's not realGrin)

Clawdy · 12/04/2018 18:14

I really don't find Aidan horrible. Especially compared to most of the other characters. I'd like to see a happy ending for him, but not sure that will happen, something is obviously not right with him, he's troubled.

ChevalierTialys · 13/04/2018 09:23

Gary might crack the David situation with a few more observations and some thought. If he gets to see his reactions to the Creep and such. He's seen traumatised men, he IS one, he knows what that looks like. Wish they'd had David open up to Martin, such a wasted opportunity.

scrabbler3 · 13/04/2018 10:09

Zee forgets he's supposed to eat halal meat when it comes to Roy's pies.

EachandEveryone · 13/04/2018 10:23

I was expecting him to buy a sausage roll! They only seem to be practicing when they fancy it. The sister wasnt allowed sex before marriage then shes shagging blokes. They made abig thing about not drinking get shes regularly seen with wine in her hand and i though even the granny the other night. And that fake marriage is a joke when theyve broken every rule in the book anyway why would the give s toss what people think?

runningoutofjuice · 13/04/2018 10:52

Yes, was there any point to Martin's appearance at all? The only thing I can think of is that the actor took one look at the script and decided to jack it in. Definitely a wasted opportunity but I suppose it wouldn't be so drawn out then and assume they haven't thought of an ending yet.

Yorkshirebetty · 13/04/2018 11:47

I wondered if the return of Martin would be part of David's storyline of dealing with his trauma. Seemed to be a bit of a dead end. The Nazirs are all over the place, I agree. I wonder when they start using the new extended set, and will that mean it won't be eleven people per house any more?

scrabbler3 · 13/04/2018 14:25

Sean Wilson runs a successful business and didn't need to return to CS. He did so for old time's sake. Why they didn't make more of the opportunity, I don't know. I'd have liked to see him interact with Jenny (ex girlfriend), Kev (ex best mate) and Gina (ex fling) even if it were just one scene with each/all. And yes, David should have talked to him about Josh. But none of this happened and it was all so weird.

kikashi · 13/04/2018 16:44

I thought Martin would be so concerned about David that he would put his emigration plans on hold and be around for him to open up to for a while. i agree it would have been nice to see him with Kev and Jenny and Gail.

EachandEveryone · 13/04/2018 18:21

When dod he have a fling with gina?

cloudyweewee · 13/04/2018 20:03

When Kev and Sally bought Hilda's house, Gina turned up and asked if she could stay. Her boyfriend got a job in the garage and Martin used to sneak in and shag Gina.

Blit · 13/04/2018 20:52

Well I never thought I'd say this, but I'm missing Phelan.

I cannot stand Michelle and Robert. If only he would come back and murder them!!!

MissKummerspeck · 13/04/2018 20:53

I can’t fucking stand Simon, he’s such an annoying little shit! Angry
