GNU, I wondered exactly the same thing about why they didn't investigate further before operating. She seemed very philosophical about it. Poor last. Dreading the next episode!

Scoliosis repair is very much our bread and butter surgery, so we were all a bit 🤔 about the fuss being made about it.

Toddler - I suppose it was a really positive story with an immediate and visible outcome. Also showed variation, or each episode would be very heavily just miserable people in corridors or the elderly unable to move out of hospital.

Still cringing from my appearance last week!

Hi - missed most of tonight's episode - could anyone tell me what was wrong with esme? She seemed very poorly with bad hands. And Amaya - did she have heart problems?

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 17/04/2018 22:05

Esme had sepsis. Amaya was born prematurely and had underdeveloped lungs, I think.

PinkSkyAtNightAngelDelight · 17/04/2018 22:06

Esme had sepsis and Amaya was a 24 week prem who has the problems that can go along side being born early like chronic lung disease. She had pneumonia.

Esme had septic shock but recovered. Amaya had bilateral pneumonia and at one point arrested but she pulled through. Both went home, nice photos of both smiling and happy, looking much healthier at the end of the programme.

That doctor is nothing short of a hero. He was so calm when treating little Amaya, when she had the cardiac arrest.
