Faves: Zoe finding out Kat was her mum in Eastenders (the "you ain't my muvva" screaming in the middle of Albert Square)

Hayley joining Corrie and raising trans awareness

Who Shot Phil?

Worst: Michelle Connor in Corrie and the son swapped at birth...now working as the local GP...obvs!

Jack-of-all-crimes Pat Phelan getting away with several murders!

Any time an actor/actress is replaced..with someone who looks nothing like the old one!

The giving birth whilst wearing tights in Neighbours.

Favourite: Who pushed Clare? - Hollyoaks. This was when Hollyoaks was on fire and unmissable. This storyline spanned over one or two years, including Clare's abuse to her dying husband Max, turning him against his best friend and sending his little brother into care, plus all the Warren and Justin drama. Loved it.

You ain't my muvva! YES I AAAAAAMMMMM! Kat and Zoe storyline in Eastenders. Iconic.

Hollyoaks - Brendan and Ste storyline. I adored this. I really miss that character.

Used to love Karen Mcdonald in Corrie.

Barry Grant in Brookside.

The Jordache family in Brookside and burying the husband Trevor under the patio, brilliant.

VeganCatLover · 23/03/2018 19:25

My worst was the baby swap with Ronnie and Kat in eastenders. I couldn't watch eastenders again until Kat had her baby back.

Yorkshirebetty · 24/03/2018 09:00

Best : murder and concealment of Trevor Jordache in Brookside.
Worst : Corrie baby swap with Eva and Toyah, Michelle and her implausible doctor son, the ongoing Phelan saga

TheOnlyLivingMumInNewCross · 24/03/2018 10:46

Worst is Hollyoaks right now, but after watching since it started they have stretches that are terrible and then they're great again.
Best was Brendan Brady era. I miss Cheryl and her no fecks given way of dressing and being. The bit where Brendan stood on the Balcony at The Loft surrounded by armed police and shouted all the crimes (his and others he took the wrap for) was magnificent. The fact they also left us overnight if you didn't watch ahead on e4 thinking he was dead was just the way to pitch the build up to the aftermath. And that Cheryl rode off into the sunset with her rich boyfriend rather than being murdered or in a taxi was good too. There's too much misery in it now, no one ever has a happy ending so it's in the pile along with Eastenders for me as dull.

Eeeh remember the bro and sis incest story on brookside? Bloody loved that soap!

Far too many baby swap storylines... can't believe no one has noticed Evas massive bump yet!

Yorkshirebetty · 24/03/2018 13:02

Oh yes, I remember that dreadful incest storyline. That was bad. No doubt Eva will go into labour in the Rovers and no one will notice except Toyah Confused

scrabbler3 · 24/03/2018 22:51

Who Shot JR. It was gripping, I was only about 7. Everyone was talking about it - I loved that the Queen Mother tried (and failed) to find out the identity of the culprit from Larry Hagman when he visited London.

Michelle Fowler having a baby at 16 on EE. It seemed so scandalous.

Scott and Charlene's wedding. 30 years ago!

Beth and Margaret kissing in front of the Christmas tree on Brookside.

I only watch Corrie now but am thinking of stopping because it's so dire.

ShatnersBassoon · 24/03/2018 22:54

Alan Bradley's abusive ways and eventual comeuppance. Great stuff.

southeastdweller · 25/03/2018 10:08

Fave:

Sheila Grant's rape and the Trevor Jordache saga in Brookie.
Alan Bradley defraud's Rita and tries to kill her in Corrie.
Who's the father of Michelle Fowler's baby in EastEnders.
Laurel's alcoholism in Emmerdale.

Worst:

Peter and Tina have an affair in Corrie.
Kat and Derek's affair in EastEnders.
Callum tries to terrorise the Platt's in Corrie.
'Molvin' in Corrie.
Corrie does a 'hilarious' Carry on Camping story with that gifted actor Paddy McGuinness.

Corrie is crap these days. I gave up last year after being a regular viewer for 30+ years - Hollyoaks is better. The writing and actors limitations are easily highlighted in six episodes a week. I'm glad Tony Warren isn't around anymore to see his dream turn into shite.

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 25/03/2018 10:12

Can't remember much about the plot, but there was a line in Brookside, spoken by a Scottish gangster: "Thank God for devolution." DH and I use this line fairly frequently Grin.

Georgiesgirl · 25/03/2018 10:20

Neighbours-Bouncer's dream sequence Grin

cloudyweewee · 25/03/2018 10:50

I never watched Dalls (was a big Dynasty fan though!) but I think 'Bobby's Dream' would have to count as the worst plot tline ever!

cloudyweewee · 25/03/2018 10:50

Dallas

ALittleAubergine · 25/03/2018 10:56

The American soap storylines are wonderfully ridiculous. You'll be watching an episode one night where the kids are toddlers. Then the next day the adult storylines continue with a normal timeline but suddenly the kids are 20 years older. Also the evil twin plot twists.

deloresclaiborne · 25/03/2018 15:33

best; corries Richard Hillman especially when he was gas lightning Audrey
worst; doctors when the receptionist (don't know her name, married to a copper) had a head injury and started to act very child like
i've never watched it since then
