Did anybody else watch this on BBC4 on Wednesday at 9pm?

I only noticed it was on by chance, but it really was the loveliest programme looking at people around the UK trying different crafts.

Last night was the first of three and concentrated on a group learning to make hooky rugs in Bamburgh and another group learning how to do letter press printing. Gentle would be a good description of it, but if you like the Sewing Bee then you would probably like this too.

I really want to make a hooky rug now ....

Oh I loved this. It was so calming. I loved the sound of the letter press machine and the letters clicking together.

The squeaking of the hooky rugging set my teeth on edge though! I remember my lovely grandma used to make hooky rugs and rag rugs when I was tiny. Made my smile to see it again last night

Only 3 episodes though? Sob.
I have already checked out rug hooking tools online.

Oh I missed this. Will have to try to catch it on I player.

See, this is why I come on this board. I had no idea this existed - thank you. I will go and look for it now. I too miss the Sewing Bee but not as much as I miss The Great British Throwdown - I miss that soooooo much.
