LMX0 · 14/03/2018 11:10

Its on tonight!! I cant wait!!

Flashinggreen · 15/03/2018 02:42

I watched this last night and rewound the bit with the Cypriot couple twice because I couldn’t work out what sex their baby was. Anyone know boy/girl? Tricky name if they’re staying in the UK, and the grandmother was videoing with an iPad as the baby came out.

ProudAunty2nine · 15/03/2018 03:25

That screaming woman in tonight's episode BEN!!!!BEN!!!BEN!!!!AGH!!!SCREAM!!!SCREECH awful I'm sure it was put on and I am sure he fainted to get a break (last bit is a joke!)
In fact the first time I have ever watched OBEM and not liked most of the couples (with the exception of the teacher mum)

Flashinggreen · 15/03/2018 04:55

I watched some of it last week and thought it was good, had to mute the screeching woman.

And I found the Cypriot Dr Father very annoying, sweet when he cried and good to see it’s normal to latch baby on ASAP, but I think he was holding the baby’s head. And the grandmother paediatrician having to be there too to record it.

I didn’t really see the middle bit.

Last week there was also a grandmother present as well as the father and she completely lost it when the mother started to haemorrhage. I can understand why she was so freaked out (her daughter had leukaemia as a child so the thought of losing her was always there), but I think she should have left the room. The father was having to look after her rather than his sick wife who’d just given birth.

LolitaLempicka · 15/03/2018 06:00

The Cypriot couple’s baby was a boy, Panayiotis.

Flashinggreen · 15/03/2018 06:31

Thanks I didn’t hear them say. Does you know how that is pronounced? Just out of interest.

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 07:57

Im glad im not the only one that was really annoyed by the screamer and thought it was a bit over the top and no wonder ben (i think thats his name 😂) needed a lie down 😂

dkb15164 · 15/03/2018 08:41

I actually quite liked the Cyprus guy. Due in less than 5 weeks and have a bit of a fear of forceps (happy to have episiotomy, etc). The mum was shaking she was so scared which would probably be me if it happened and I really liked the fact the dad stood up for the mum's wants/needs very calmly and asked if they could try push a few times first which led to the baby's heartbeat slowing down and to them not needing forceps. Hope my partner will have the strength to be my voice during labour.

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 09:13

@dkb15164 i agree when he was really needed he stepped up to the plate for her even though at the start he was pain i really felt for her when she really started to shake i even felt a little teary (stupid hormones) tbh forceps never crossed my mind until last night and i dont think id be too keen!!

TwitterQueen1 · 15/03/2018 09:20

Ummm I have to admit to finding last night's episode hysterically funny in parts - and also very moving (couple #3 who had so sadly lost their baby Oscar).

BEN BEN BEN BEN - I was in stitches. And then poor, poor Ben (though I'd seen it already on breakfast tv), simultaneously trying to be supportive, lying on the floor, throwing up, suffering a 'banging head....'

And the exuberant puppy that was the Cypriot dad. Everyone tucking themselves up on the floor to go to bed... his total over-the-topness... Of course he was lovely really, but he was funny too!

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 10:11

@TwitterQueen1 yes i thought that couple where very moving too and glad everything went well for them
I must admit i had a good laugh at some bits poor Ben!!
I must say if my other half was to camp down on the floor while id be in late stages of labour i dont think id be happy about it!!! But she seemed very relaxed and took it all in her stride!! (Thinking relaxed isnt the best word to use but cant think of anything else!)

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 10:14

@TwitterQueen1 exuberant puppy is the best way to describe him!!!!

dkb15164 · 15/03/2018 13:40

@LMX0 his upbeat nature compared with her being so quiet/"done with this shit" was so funny. Ben had my partner in hysterics, he keeps teasing me that he'll fake pass out just as the baby is born.

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 15:19

@dkb15164 😂😂 id kill mine if he did!!! Awk even though poor ben hit the dirt when he came round he kept making sure she was ok and being encouraging!! I also had tk laugh when he was going on about them both being preggers!! 😂😂

LolitaLempicka · 15/03/2018 18:43

Flaming Pan-ah-yot-eez, I have only seen it spelt Panagiotis before.

Flashinggreen · 15/03/2018 19:09

Maybe they put the y in to make it easier for Brits to pronounce.

I must admit I only dipped in and out of the programme, the screecher put me off.

LMX0 · 15/03/2018 19:14

@Flashinggreen don't blame you!!!

LMX0 · 22/03/2018 19:17

What did everyone think of last nights ep?
