Ekaterina: the Rise of Catherine the Great (fantastic Amazon series)

Just finished watching season 1 (after only a week or 2, very binge-worthy on Amazon Prime and loved it. Has anyone seen it? If not I'd highly recommend it. Especially if you like historical drama I suppose.

I've really been sucked into her story and reading up on the history behind it. Good acting, sumptuous costumes and settings. Lots of drama. I found hearing the Russian language interesting too. So frustrated that I can't see the second season yet!

Yes yes, I watched it recently and it gave me the impression that the Russian production company who made it, had watched War and Peace by the beeb and gone, 'we can do what they do, much better.'
I really hope there is a third series.

That's OK Trills, I know the feeling! I'd had it bookmarked for a while and was looking for something new after finishing another series and not being in the mood for others I'd started.

It's brill. The actor who plays Peter, K's autistic husband, is superb.

Dh and I watched the first couple of episodes. Loved it. Need to get back into it. For some reason, it's a Sunday morning treat. Probably because I'm too tired to read subtitles at night.

Nice to watch Russian history from a Russian perspective.

We are just finishing 7 seconds on Netflix that's been great and I have Ekaterina on my list to watch, bumped to the top now.
