Ashley's job is something to do with primary care practice, he runs patient participation groups. He is not a doctor, thank Everything that is tank top.

Hello to all new thread participants how lovely that you've joined us. We now have more thread people than the Mill has patients, fact.Grin

My Great Fire of London knowledge is limited to : it started in Pudding Lane and Samuel Pepyps wrote about it in his diaries. Was it in 1666?( Cos the Battle of Hastings was 1066)

I've got the latest two episodes to catch up on this evening...

MadisonAvenue · 07/03/2018 16:22

toldmywrath Yes, it was 1666 - the year after the plague.

MadisonAvenue · 07/03/2018 16:23

Oh, and that's as much as I know too....the date and Pudding Lane.

The big question actually, is when does Ashley ever do any work or see his horrible and non understanding wife? Can't he get sent on a course of something.

I knew the Great Fire was 1666 but only just realized the 666 bit. I know The Monument in London, it's Grade I listed, but I don't think I've climbed up it.

IhaveChillyToes · 07/03/2018 17:13

Told - didn't realise the patient group thingy was an actual real job

I thought it was a voluntary group thingy that people like him "busy bodies" do at GP surgery liaison committee level

JustDanceAddict · 07/03/2018 17:54

AShley has to do one ASAP or I might actually be sick on the TV!!

FuzzyCustard · 07/03/2018 18:01

.
Now, may I have an appointment to see a Dr?

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 07/03/2018 18:47

I actually feel ill Ashley is a slimy little weasel

AnneEyhtMeyer · 07/03/2018 20:37

Thank the Lord! Mrs T has returned!!!!!!!!!!!

cloudyweewee · 07/03/2018 21:23

I haven't watched yet but the references to the Great Fire of London are intriguing as today I took my Y2 class to a manor house in Bournville as part of our Great Fire topic. Several Doctors scenes have been filmed in the vicinity Shock

toldmywrath sorry Blush

SleightOfGender · 08/03/2018 08:21

I've had to give up having lunch at lunchtime while Ashley's at it Vom Vom Vom.

Can't say I blame you , imagine eating and watching him eating Valerie bleurgh. He has those scary big eyes when he pleads with Valerie - I am torn between being enraged by the BS or repulsion.

Such a shame Mrs T walked into that mess.

On another note - I've never seen as many patients in t'Mill as there was when that powercut/virus attack happened. Where did they all come from??? Shock

SleightOfGender · 08/03/2018 08:28

They don't do the fire of London here (more William Wallace this way Wink for projects). We had to make his sword once!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth

Baby Val ? Is that one of your children

I'm glad I'm not the only newbie - hello fellow newbies Fuzzycustard and anyone else.

Has anyone here been watching it for years? Remember Doctor George and Ronnie and baby Bracken - they should bring Bracken back. I want to see how she grew up. (Yes, I'm sad and watched it with my mum for years)

toldmywrath · 08/03/2018 10:29

Chilly don't apologise, . I want to know myself what Ashley's proper job title is, my memory is shocking and all I recall is that he works for you the PCT or something!

I started watching during the time Julia, practice manager, had some type of mystery illness, which turned out to be Lyme Disease.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 08/03/2018 12:59

I haven't been watching long so I spent a bit of time searching for any info about Ashley. There's so little.

Jim North, who plays him, has a Twitter account but doesn't really use it.
I also got distracted because the actor who playes Sid, is Ashley in real life. Shame Jimmi isn't really an Ashley, that'd be neat.
