I am really quite concerned that the angle seems to be that we are supposed to feel sorry for Andrew!

I’m watching episode 2 & I’m pretty sure I don’t want to watch anymore!

MrsElvis · 26/02/2018 13:39

Aren't we meant to think he's a big pathetic and the wives are far superior

Princecharlesfirstwife · 26/02/2018 14:49

I like Stephen Manfan usually but this is dire. I watched two episodes just to make sure but yes. Dire.

Orlandsundry · 14/03/2018 16:01

I watched it and hated it. Main character is completely vile. I just can't get past the fact that he is a completely loathsome worm.

Nousernameforme · 14/03/2018 23:30

I'm on episode 4 and he really is a nasty piece of work. Controlling mentally abusive neglectful father spineless and aggressive at the same time. I'm only carrying on in the hopes he gets found out.

SavageBeauty73 · 15/03/2018 08:49

I only watched two episodes and gave up. Absolutely loathed the main character.

SkaPunkPrincess · 15/03/2018 21:24

I am strangely enjoying watching the torture he is putting himself through.

Also laughing at the sheer absurdity of the situation.

It's definitely quite dark though. I didn't like how he spoke to Denise on the pier in this weeks episode.

I'm watching this.
Andrew is just awful, can't stand him. Horribly abusive to everyone in his families and this week taking photos of his daughter and what he did to the builder and son.
I'm still watching, hoping that he will get found out, dislike him more with every passing episode.

dorothyparka · 22/03/2018 13:37

It was advertised as a comedy drama but it's beyond creepy. The main character is the stuff of nightmares. I can't quite fathom what it is that the writer/director wants us to make of Andrew but I think we're supposed to see him as a well-intentioned chump who's got himself in a bit of a pickleHmm

SarfE4sticated · 22/03/2018 14:59

I agree with you all - it made me really uncomfortable to watch it - he's really nightmarish! I don't see any humour in it all!

BennyTheBall · 22/03/2018 17:27

This is a weird show.

We are loving Stephen Mangan in it though. He's a very funny man.

The ep where his son came out as gay was worth watching just for Stephen's extraordinary range of emotions when the son told him.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2018 21:32

I like it

Tho surely if having a double life you wouldn’t live in same
/close town

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/03/2018 21:10

Let's take a minute to think about how unbelievable it is that Stephen Mangan's character is lucky enough to be married to Heather fucking Graham, who has barely aged a day since Austin Powers, and he still looks elsewhere??

SarfE4sticated · 25/03/2018 10:49

And also, how is it possible to lead a double life in Bristol fgs - it's too small surely!

Timeforachange68 · 25/03/2018 18:06

It is a ridiculous sitcom but I'm seeing it through to the end! Not sure I'd bother with a 2nd series though.

Like pp said surely a double life in the same town would be so stressful

Loonoon · 27/03/2018 14:52

I watch it because I love SM but his character really is a Grade A bastard.

Timeforachange68 · 27/03/2018 16:36

spoilers thought the last episode where the Latvian builder hit his son after SM got him into trouble was awful - thought it was meant to be a comedy/drama?

Oblomov18 · 27/03/2018 16:49

Dh and I are watching this, but finding it quite hard to watch. Mostly because it's such an uncomfortable/awful topic.

iheartmichellemallon · 31/03/2018 17:48

We're watching it too but I'm not sure why as it makes us both feel very uncomfortable.

Timeforachange68 · 31/03/2018 20:12

Wonder if it will get renewed?

EachandEveryone · 10/04/2018 00:17

I just started a thread about how crap this is. I switched off during episode 2. It woukd be better if they werent in the same city at least but it would still be shite.

Bridezilla2be · 10/04/2018 22:27

So the builder hitting the son episode was the last in the series? What a rubbish ending, kept hoping it was going to get better. Can’t see it coming back.
