I felt sorry for his colleagues, they seemed poleaxed by it.

I couldn’t understand his “confession” - why on earth didn’t he just admit that he was struggling with debt?

I feel like he would have got a slightly more lenient sentence by presenting himself as just an outstanding policeman who had fallen on hard times?

The whole thing was just grubby. The guy who used the prostitute and the police officer involved in blackmail. Just ugh.

Wasn't it awful!! All for £1000. Wonder had he done it before? I doubt he did it to clear a credit card bill of only £1600.

I just kept imagining just how he even managed to stay calm whilst on surveillance. He must have been totally delusional to think he could ever get away with it. Very good watch though!

I was intrigued by why he risked everything for £1000. He could easily have made that legally through matched betting!

I think he must have been addicted to the risk and excitement of his actions. First he was getting the buzz from his job, then from visiting prostitutes knowing he jeopardised his career, then from blackmail. Maybe he was addicted to adrenaline and kept seeking bigger hits?

I wonder if this was not the first time Lemonade, or he planned to do the same as a side line going forward.

What were the chances of him actually being on the case where he was the offender? I wonder what he thought as he sat watching the dropped money knowing that he couldn't collect it. He made such schoolboy errors for someone "in the know".
The prostitute made me when she said she was legit and had an accountant and was registered with companies house.

dereksgotatail yes, I got sidetracked by them , I really wanted to know their back story, the man said they had been doing the woman in a van thing for about three years, she seemed very together,with her accountant and companies house listing ffs, and then he let drop that he had to clear the phone every two days because it only had enough room for a thousand texts. 500 texts a day from people looking for sex in a van in a lay by. blimey. There's a channel 4 documentary if ever I heard of one.

I've never been arrested so don't know if this series is an accurate picture of how policing works, but it is fascinating to watch, and a sometimes shocking insight into other people's lives and what they accept as normal. I have to take my pearls off to watch it otherwise the restringing costs would possibly drive me to a van in a lay by.

I watched it too and it was fascinating but yes very grubby.

I just cannot get my head around why a man with a career and a decent life, house, family, etc would risk it all for £1000 . I felt like I really wanted to know more of the backstory, what was going on in his head, etc.

I also couldn't understand how it's legal for that couple to drive around in their caravan soliciting for sex?

I was a bit baffled by the man from the van taking the bookings.

This was a brilliant episode and yes, sooo many school boy errors.

I was wondering about how it works in terms of giving consent to allow yourself to in the documentary - obviously in fly on the wall programmes such as one born every minute /24 hours in a&e the participants have a choice to be filmed and take part.

In this programme they really wanted the viewer to know what this man's name was.

I wondered about the consent too, although I don't know the laws around protecting identity. I guess it was already in the domain.

It was almost like he wanted to get caught, the errors he made. How on earth did he plan to get the money? Such a huge gamble for so little and so much to throw away.

I enjoyed it but the police didn't have to do much detective work did they? I would have appreciated a bit more detail about how they traced the evidence back to the policeman.

I was also a little bit sickened by how nice his colleagues all were towards him and how they seemed to be making excuses. I'm glad his sentence was increased.

In the end he was just another grubby porn-addicted low-life.

Probably the best episode I've ever seen and I absolutely love hat programme!

Yes, I guess the programme aired after sentencing.

It must have been the only time he'd done it too as they would have found other evidence /photos on his computer and phone.

His poor wife, finding out in that way that her husband had been using prostitutes as well as the blackmail.
