Love, love, love it!

We are, think it's brilliant too! Well written and acted. There was a 2016 film too, not sure if that's worth a watch maybe?

The film is ace but the series seems to ignore or repeat a few things that happened in the film

Think the film was brilliant too. They're repeating a few things to remind people I think?
Also, think the series is a prequel to film - it wasn't planned at the time the film was made so they're using a bit of poetic licence.
Predict it will be a massive hit!
