There are about eleventy-twenty series. I watched the first couple. My 14 yo niece is now watching them all.

SacredHour · 07/02/2018 22:06

Yes, I'd recommend it. Easy to watch. Robert Carlisle is great. Me and my husband really like it. Think we're on second series. Nice length of about 45 minutes per episode. Enjoy.

TheCaptainsCat · 07/02/2018 22:12

It's a bit mad.

GwenStaceyRocks · 07/02/2018 22:12

We stumbled across it by accident and quite enjoyed it. I didn't realise it had quite so many episodes so was expecting a speedier resolution to some strands. The violence suddenly ramps up in certain episodes which took me and DC by surprise. But it has a fab cast and is beautifully shot.

UnicornRainbowColours · 08/02/2018 12:14

The first 6 seasons are brilliant. S7 was a reboot and not as good. It’s been cancelled now so you may as well watch it.

Pauperlil · 08/02/2018 14:21

For me personally It started off good and then just became more ridiculous and boring . So many plot holes too

SNAP!

loved the first series, second was hmmmmm, then it stated to get dafter.

QuestionableMouse · 08/02/2018 14:26

It's one of those shows that has a lot of promise yet never quite reaches it.

Doctordonowt · 08/02/2018 15:58

I thought the first series was excellent. Currently watching the Neverland series and it is so repetitive. Can we ever get off this Island? Yes we can, No we can’t, yes we can.

monkeyneedsahug · 09/02/2018 00:01

Loved the first series, hated it when it got to the Peter Pan storyline and stopped watching.

DD13 got fairly obsessed and watched them all and loves it.

Yidette86 · 10/02/2018 13:48

The first couple of seasons were brilliant imo but it slowly declined.. I would still watch it though 😁

RaininSummer · 10/02/2018 13:51

Liked it at first but gave up mid second season. Got boring and seemed unending. Agree that Carlisle is worth watching it for.

CoodleMoodle · 10/02/2018 13:56

First series was great. Later series' have their moments but are so ridiculous and drag on and on. I gave up about halfway through S5. Or maybe it was S6. Determined to finish it but I think I'd have to be REALLY bored.

Robert Carlyle is amazing though. Undoubtedly the best thing in it.

shartsi · 10/02/2018 18:34

I loved the first 6 seasons. I've only watched 4 episodes of season 4. They shouldn't have bothered in my opinion.

ISaySteadyOn · 10/02/2018 18:45

I enjoyed it. Especially Robert Carlisle and Lana Parrilla. But I can see why S7 was cancelled.

WhirlwindHugs · 10/02/2018 18:50

It's okay, the main problem is that they keep repeating the same concepts so we lost interest eventually. I think it would have been better if they'd planned it as only 3/4 series from the beginning.

It's fun and easy to watch though.

FabulouslyFab · 10/02/2018 18:52

Enjoy it for as long as you can! I too thought the first two series were great and they should've stopped while the going was good!

JazzAnnNonMouse · 10/02/2018 19:04

Absolutely loved the first few series and once upon a time in wonderland (spin off) too but it started to get ropey and rehashed storylines lower budget etc. Became more background what shall we watch rather than avid watching.
I find quite often that American tv series never quite know when to end and keep flogging a dead horse which is a shame when the first even second series of whatever is often brilliant

ShowOfHands · 10/02/2018 19:07

My ten year old LOVES it. I see it occasionally and watch long enough to check whether Regina is good or bad and wander off.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 11/02/2018 20:28

I’ve been watching it with my 10yo DD. She had watched it all and told me we’d skip the Neverland episodes as she didn’t like them either. I’ve also lost interest at S7 but the rest have kept me interested, with some better than others. It’s worth watching for Captain Guyliner alone 😍

ChanandlerBongsNeighbour · 11/02/2018 20:43

Am almost finished S3 so far and LOVING it! Yes it's kind of ridiculous in places but it plays up to that and that just adds to its charm! Perfect easy watching!

FluffyMcCloud · 11/02/2018 20:46

I love it. There's a bit of a dip in the middle which you have to just kinda persevere and get through but overall it's amazing. I'm loving the latest series even though it's a bit exactly the same-y.

Mhw02 · 11/02/2018 21:30

I loved series 1 and 2, but felt that after that the writers were just winging it and had no clear direction as to where they eventually wanted the story to go. I enjoyed series 3 and 4 well enough, but thought there was a lot of wasted potential and themes that really should have been explored were ignored altogether or glossed over. Series 5 and 6 had the potential to be good, but were missed opportunities and there was so little character development and so much in the way of inconsistencies, lack of continuity and rehashing of plot lines that I grew rather frustrated with it and I don't think I even watched all the episodes. Series 7 I didn't bother watching at all.

Would explain in more detail, but you said no spoilers!

WhineandDine1 · 14/02/2018 17:51

I absolutely love it (apart from season 7)
Can't stand one of the main characters Captain Hook. For me it'd be a whole lot better without him!! Also find the actress who plays belle painfully bad but other than that it's amazing. Actually went to a convention where all the cast were rebecca mader who plays Zelena is fabulous and so funny in real life

EnidButton · 15/02/2018 02:15

I loved it. I think by the time it becomes too ridiculous, or there are a few boring episodes, you've been sucked in and can't stop watching. Plus Rumple was always entertaining and worth watching it for. I found it to be one of those comforting programmes that you turn to at times of worry.

I wouldn't watch the very last series though. (The latest one) There's no need for it and you wouldn't miss out on anything.
