Just watched this, I was spellbound. I know very little about writing and acting, but my goodness that was riveting. Even DH sat quietly and watched.

The one about the woman who was abused by her teacher when she was 12? It was written by Jodhi May, the well known actress who played Rachel, the main character.

The storyline was quite good I suppose, but the writing of the dialogue was terrible I thought, sounded very forced and unnatural. I wonder if the script would have been approved if she hadn't been known as an actress? I feel quite mean saying it, because I have really liked Jodhi May as an actress for many years, but Jodhi, honestly, go back to the day job - stick to the acting!

numbereightyone · 06/02/2018 14:18

Thirty seconds in and I am a bit teary!

Cherrypie32 · 06/02/2018 15:00

The last series was good, some of them better than others but they always attract well known actors. Weren’t they originally written by Jimmy McGovern or something? It’s perfect timing for me to sit and have a cuppa before picking the kids up and saves me from the awful (but mildly addictive) Jugde Rinder 😂

numbereightyone · 06/02/2018 15:24

Jimmy McGovern is the Executive producer but I think he may have written one of this series.

Weezol · 06/02/2018 15:27

Today's was great. Mind you, Sue Johnston makes everything she does into something special.

numbereightyone · 07/02/2018 09:35

I really liked the one with Sue Johnson.

Cherrypie32 · 07/02/2018 14:26

Oh, nice to see Barry from Eastenders!

PorklessPie · 08/02/2018 20:15

Just found these today, had never heard of it. Brilliant, my favourite was the bingo win.

Hhakuna · 08/02/2018 21:16

i always seem to like stuff with Sally Lindsey in, even if she does seem to play the same type of character she always comes across as down to earth in interviews

numbereightyone · 08/02/2018 21:23

I like Sally Lindsay too. It's a shame that Mount Pleasant has finished.

Cherrypie32 · 08/02/2018 21:34

Was today’s worth watching?

thelionthewitchandthebookcase · 08/02/2018 21:37

Yes!!

Housewife2010 · 08/02/2018 22:21

Tomorrow's is on a little later which is a shame. Today I put my boots and coat on before it finished and was ready to dash out on the school run as the credits started. I'm really enjoying it. Today's was particularly good.

numbereightyone · 09/02/2018 14:34

The episode co-written by Jimmy McGovern starts in ten minutes.

ginch · 09/02/2018 16:03

Todays was a bit too condensed for me, watchable but unrealistic.

Mrsmadevans · 09/02/2018 18:06

I loved todays episode thought it was really well written and acted and I couldn't stop watching it.
