Just seen its on Netflix and always fancied it. Is it worth the watch? I'm 23 weeks pregnant and need a show to get into Grin

Yes but at 23 weeks pregnant you will certainly cry at every episode!

I watched the first series on maternity leave. When DH first went back to work and left for work on a Monday morning I watched an episode and I was 1 hour nearer him coming home. I loved it! James Herriott with babies.

Saying that, i haven't watched it for a couple of series now.

I lost a good week of my life to that programme after I recently discovered it. I bawled at every episode though, and I'm not pg.

Yes it's lovely, they were written as books and they were a great read. I would definitely recommend starting from the beginning. Some of them are a bit sad tho.

I think I would wait until you have given birth. I would have found it terrifying and upsetting beforehand.

CheshireSplat · 03/02/2018 20:08

What did you think, OP?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/02/2018 20:10

No. The first series is great. Utter crap since then.

BertieBotts · 03/02/2018 20:11

Hmm, it depends. The first few seasons are quite hard hitting and do cover some rather terrifying aspects of pregnancy and birth so might not be the best idea to watch for the first time while pregnant!

That said I adore the series, particularly the early ones, and while it can be upsetting it's part of life, isn't it? If you don't think it will overly worry you then it is a good watch.

I read the original book while pregnant with DS. Great
