Just finished watching this show on Netflix, and I absolutely loved it! David Brent is absolutely fantastic, so cringeworthy and awkward, but so well acted.

I reckon my fav episode was probably the comic relief one - can't beat brent's dance moves!

The one with the stapler in the jelly

As someone else said, joint equal are the training day and the very last episode. All 14 episodes are pretty much perfect, love them all and know most of them word for word. I don't think Ricky Gervais has ever done anything better. Plus I love the local references as I'm in Berkshire. Shame that Stephen merchant seemed to fall out with Ricky Gervais in recent years as they were brilliant collaborative writers. I didn't want to like the American version but it was very good in its own right, although it went on a bit too long and it petered out a bit. If I had a spare week or so, I'd binge watch the whole lot again if I could.

The one when (spoiler)

Dawn and Tim get together at last

I also love the one when Brent sings in the meeting room. Gareth joining in is hilarious and I also love the Saturday night Fever one so many good ones anyway

goforkyourself · 27/01/2018 18:16

Wasn't there a scene with Keith where he said 'and then I gave her an orgasm' then bit into a Scotch egg? Grin

ShackUp · 27/01/2018 18:41

'You don't play sport! What sport do you play, then?'

'Sgquwaaaaaaaaaaash'

I've just rewatched them all for the millionth time and my favourite episode is the final of the Christmas specials for the following reasons:

-Dawns look she gave Tim when she came in the office to take her away from all the questions, and he just knew
-David standing up for himself against Finchy and finally meeting a woman/Neil's face when the woman turned out to be lovely
-Gareth and his Monkey Allen impression!
-Tim and Dawn and their ending

All episodes have their own merits. The one with the cringe welcome speech for the Swindon lot was brilliant, the racist jokes. Everyone loves Training Day and Comic Relief but I do think the understated ones are actually the best

PhyllisWig · 28/01/2018 15:25

Chasers. Tim's rundown of Slough nightclubs.

redexpat · 29/01/2018 04:55

The shoe throwing is pretty funny.

TournesolsetLavande · 29/01/2018 05:08

The very last episode. It's just perfect in every way. The way the Tim and Dawn story ended, obviously, but who could help but feel a genuine warm glow when David finally met someone who laughed at him for the right reasons and not the wrong ones?

The bit where Dawn opens her Secret Santa present and sees the little note saying 'Never give up' makes me get goosebumps now just thinking about it.

brokenshoes · 29/01/2018 09:46

Love the Quiz episode. "No don't, it's a radio as well".

"Drinks at 6"

I also love the scene in the second series where Brent's face was superimposed on porn.

David Brent: You haven't even got email, Joan
Joan: Someone printed it out for me.
David Brent: Who printed this out for Joan? [ everyone puts their hand up again].
Grin

brokenshoes · 29/01/2018 09:52

^ second episode

gabsdot · 29/01/2018 16:14

My job is to ask people surveys. At the moment I'm doing a survey which has a section with the responses
All of the time
Most of the time
Some of the time
A little of the time
None of the time
I struggle every time not to laugh thinking about David Brent doing the performance appraisal thing with Kevin.

gabsdot · 29/01/2018 16:18

Keith not Kevin. Kevin is the US version

SnapesTears · 29/01/2018 16:58

Oh everything really, but that moment in the car when Dawn opens the present from Tim is lovely.

SnapesTears · 29/01/2018 17:00

And the classic line from Gareth: I was just wondering - will there ever be a boy born who can swim faster than a shark.

mapmybum · 29/01/2018 17:04

Finchy - cleverest bloke I know... definitely the cleverest bloke you know (to Gareth)

Agerbilatemycardigan · 29/01/2018 17:17

Didn't like the first episode much, so stopped watching. Was off sick from work after being in hospital and ended up watching it online out of boredom.

The upshot was that I learned to love it and often re-watch episodes. David Brent's a genius creation.

Love -

Stapler in jelly
The pranks played on Gareth
Charity episode
David trying to out-do Neil
David's terrible self-penned songs
Tim and Dawn finally getting together

Gareth Keenan Investigates Grin

brokenshoes · 30/01/2018 18:14

@gabsdot - What are the options?

phoenix1973 · 30/01/2018 18:44

The last one 😍
Or the one where the bloke says to the pregnant lady "so what, some bloke blew his beans in your muff" 😂😂😂

PuppyMonkey · 30/01/2018 19:36

“The good news is... I’ve been promoted” or something, when he’s announcing everyone has been made redundant. It’s the sort of thing that happened in my old office.Grin

Whenever we look out the window and see a finch (bird) in the garden, DP and I always shout in unison: “Finchy!”
