Catching up so late had to have a super-quick scan at the thread and looking forward to a leisurely read over coffee tomorrow. Still loving this series despite any naysayers!

One thing my super-quick scan I picked up was this:

If you watch the apprentice you see no boozing and shagging and although my DH decided from day 1 he was awful most viewers - including me - didn't really get the AS "you're fired" reason of being "too laddy" because you just didn't see that and now realise it must have been related to off-screen awfulness.

In fact with all the sleaze and revelations you'd think an MP that could keep their hands to themselves would be an asset really.

To me Ann is different as she was in a position of immense power and her PERSONAL views have helped create policies that have affected real people which is v different to just having your own personal opinion which doesn’t affect anyone.

To me she’s no different to Margaret Thatcher who never enacted any policies to help women, just the opposite in fact.

So yes, I do judge her by diffferent standards to the rest of the HMs

Well she was voted into power by members of the public, so they obviously thought it was ok to be in parliament if you didn't particularly like physical contact.

Personally I'd rather that than the sleazy bastards that spend their time accessing porn.

I know Ann not sure it's helping his case for her to emphasise that he is being genuine in the house Surely she'd have done better to say he's playing to the cameras?

There have been a few ex mps in over the years though with questionable views in my opinion was it last year or the year before the was a UKIP mp in with a history of homophobic comments. He didn't get this treatment!
