Anyone watching? Not sure what I think of it at the moment. They’ve obviously chucked loads of cash at it.

I'm really enjoying it. Just came on to see if anyone else was watching. Only about 20 mins in but has similar feel to vikings which I loved.

McTufty · 18/01/2018 21:49

I’m watching and wondering if someone spiked my Diet Coke with acid

MsGameandWatching · 18/01/2018 21:50

I think it's trying to muscle in on the GOT audience. I'm not sure yet.

SydneyCarton · 18/01/2018 21:54

Pretty much quids in if you’re a ginger British actor Grin

Rollergirl11 · 18/01/2018 21:57

Sydney: Innit. DH and I were both wondering when Paul Kaye would appear.

Maybe Jeanette Krankie’s going to be Boudicca 😂

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 18/01/2018 22:08

IT gets the lovely Mr Rhys-tutt on the screen, so thumbs up from me.
It's handy they all speak the same language.
Oo look, early British yoga.

user1471134011 · 18/01/2018 22:36

Early British yoga. 😆😆😆

TinklyLittleLaugh · 19/01/2018 00:01

The druids seem to be speaking welsh.

Fantasticmissfoxy · 19/01/2018 00:05

Not sure yet - some lovely scenery but baffled by them all speaking the same language and the whole Druid carry on.

Middleoftheroad · 19/01/2018 07:50

Game of Thrones is my favourite show, so watched with interest.

The jury's still out after episode 1 as I don't know the characters and some of it felt cheesey. Will watch on though as I am missing Jaime and Tyrion.

Top marks for Donovan though.

WeirdCatLady · 19/01/2018 12:31

I’m halfway through the series and am enjoying it. I’m a big GoT fan and I dont think it’s fair to compare the two. Britannia is not at all historically accurate but I like the modern approach. I think the little touches of humour are good too. It helps that there’s some nice eye candy on view as well.

Lovelise · 19/01/2018 12:35

We've recorded it and are watching tonight. Can't wait!

WeirdCatLady · 19/01/2018 18:39

Just finished it. Didn’t enjoy ep7 (I think it was 7, when they’re all in the huts...won’t say more so no spoilers) but overall I liked it.

Mad, weird bunkum!

OneInAMillionYou · 20/01/2018 06:45

Thought this was terrible, gave up after one episode. Like a PP said the whole thing felt like someone's bad acid trip. Awful

PhuntSox · 20/01/2018 16:53

Its so historically inaccurate it sets my teeth on edge! Still watching though...

BestIsWest · 21/01/2018 18:04

I watched the whole thing through a haze of flu. Was I hallucinating?

DH loved it.

We were a bit bemused by the Donovan though.

Peggysue14 · 22/01/2018 10:15

I love it too. I have a feeling that it will always be compared to Game of Thrones though which is a bit unfair.

LadyChatterlysLoofah · 22/01/2018 10:17

Gorgeous scenery! Misses the main point

toooldforthisshirt37 · 24/01/2018 10:24

I bingewatched this last week. It isn't fair to compare it to GoT, they are very different. Loved it and sorry there weren't more episodes.

I was a bit Confused by the theme music, but by the end of the series it sort of seemed to fit.

It isn't historically accurate, they are all speaking the same language, and everyone has lovely hair. But you have to suspend disbelief for these things don't you? I mean, Westeros doesn't exist!

I loved the weird druids and roared at an article in the Daily Fail (sorry) that modern druids are hugely offended. Apparently, there is no historical evidence to prove they were warlike or made sacrifices. I thought the whole point is that druids never wrote anything down and therefore, since the Romans eventually wiped them out, we know nothing about them? So the modern day guys are making it up too?

Anyhow, if you like a bit of costume drama, eye candy and silliness, give it go!

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/01/2018 12:27

I just realised the gorgeous French duke from Outlander season 2 is in it - he plays the guy Julian R-T's wife (who bears more than a passing resemblance to the Duchess of Campbridge) is shagging. It's a hard life but someone's got to do it!

toooldforthisshirt37 · 25/01/2018 12:41

Yes, Queen, there is a lot of eye candy making for easy watching!

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 25/01/2018 12:47

Does anyone else think that David Morrissey looks more like a kindly dad than a warlike general?

I'm also coveting a fine head of thick, red hair like Kerra's Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/01/2018 14:49

@toooldforthisshirt37 here he is sans dreads

Britannia
toooldforthisshirt37 · 25/01/2018 14:52

Mmmm, yummy. I like the dreds too though! Thank you QueenoftheAndals!
