Is anyone watching Dancing with the Stars Ireland?

OK, so it's not as slick and glam as Strictly, the 'celebs' are even less well known than some of the more obscure Strictly celebs and it has Nicky Byrne (so boring that he had to have a co-host on his radio show to stop drivers falling asleep at the wheel), but I still enjoyed it last year and am watching again this year.

Any thoughts on who will win? It's Ireland, so unlikely to be a woman winning despite about half of the women being head and shoulders above the best of the men. Out of the men so far I reckon it'll be the rugby player who wins (unless he's protestant), he actually looked quite graceful during his dance and had lovely posture so that's a sign of early promise IMO, but being a sportsman is probably going to be the tipping point that wins it for him.

how can you see it in the UK?

I'm in Ireland so I just watch it on TV, you would need a VPN to pretend that you are in Ireland if you wanted to watch it on RTE Player. Plus, I think you have to watch it live as it's not available to re-watch on RTE Player, I'm not sure why.

Ah that's a shame. I know in Ireland you guys get BBC and can watch Strictly and so on, would be nice if RTE was available through Sky or something.

You can watch some stuff on RTE Player from abroad here, but TBH anything that's worth watching gets picked up by the UK channels anyway. Even some stuff that's not worth watching (Mrs Brown's Boys for instance). I very rarely watch RTE except for local news and weather.

I watched it, but I much prefer Strictly. I haven't a clue who most of the celebs are as I don't really watch RTE.

I agree that Tomás O'Leary has a good chance from what I saw. As a Munster fan I'll be supporting him anyway Grin

Amanda Byram is just as wooden as last year IMO. I don't mind Nicky Byrne actually, and he did well on Strictly IIRC.
