Anyone else watching Four Weddings and a Funeral? It's on now. I just love it. It came out when I was care free single and in 20s.

It's just about the perfect film (along with A Few Good Men).

Anyone up and watching.

Meeee! Should go to bed. I keep preempting the script...

Wedfing #4 coming up...

Shinygoldbauble · 27/12/2017 00:57

I'm watching. I have a soft spot for romantic comedies.
Hugh Grant in that shorts, shirt and shoes outfit though. What was that all about? Enough to put me off him for life Smile

MountainVista · 27/12/2017 01:07

Aw Shiny, I was thinking how fresh and lovely they all lookin their 90s clobber Smile

Butterymuffin · 27/12/2017 01:09

Yes, and I too am nostalgic for the carefree days of the 90s! The shorts outfit was bad though.

underthebluemoon · 27/12/2017 01:11

I am watching.

RIP Charlotte Coleman, I hope she had a lot of fun playing that role.

BestIsWest · 27/12/2017 01:11

Yes and I still don’t understand why High Grant chose Andie Mc Dowell over Kristen Scott-Thomas. She is SO beautiful.

BestIsWest · 27/12/2017 01:12

We had a little sniffle over Charlotte Coleman.

Italiangreyhound · 27/12/2017 01:12

I am loving it. "Not so tight, dad." She is so horrible, that's what they (the writers) are saying with that line.

Not sure why him Carrie never got it together. Do you think that kind of thing happens in real life?

Butterymuffin · 27/12/2017 01:13

Yes, poor Charlotte Coleman. I try to convince myself she actually lived happily ever after with her American husband in real life too.

Butterymuffin · 27/12/2017 01:14

Makes you realise how much bridal fashions have changed. Not a strapless dress in sight!

Shinygoldbauble · 27/12/2017 01:16

I had forgotten that Charlotte Coleman died. Very sad.

Bloomed · 27/12/2017 01:16

Am watching this for the first time all the way through. No chemistry between Carrie and Hamish at all which is odd.

Itscurtainsforyou · 27/12/2017 01:17

I'm watching Smile. I've realised that the film played a pretty big factor in putting me off traditional white weddings (this is not a bad thing Grin).

Shinygoldbauble · 27/12/2017 01:19

I love the photo montage at the end.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 27/12/2017 01:19

I am! I saw it 3 times at the cinema (first time I sneaked in underage, then on my 15th birthday and again a week later). DH and I both love it. It doesn't pass the Bechdel Test but it still makes me happy watching it.

Maryz · 27/12/2017 01:21

I saw it last night - must have been different channel?

I was reminded how much I dislike Andie McDowell. If it wasn't for her it would be a perfect film.

As it is I was a bit put out by Hugh Grant's patheticness, which I seem to have forgotten.

Butterymuffin · 27/12/2017 01:22

Yes, the Carrie/Hamish relationship never makes any sense.

The photo montage is great! Love Charlie, wife and labrador. Also Fiona and Prince Charles!

thisismadness77 · 27/12/2017 01:25

Ha it was lovely. Now I’m wide awake way past my bedtime. All the chocolate orange segments aren’t helping.

expatinscotland · 27/12/2017 01:26

It's cute!

Italiangreyhound · 27/12/2017 01:26

Ah I always felt sorry the Kirsten Scott Thomas character never got a bloke!

I wonder if this was one of the first main stream films with a gay couple.

The crappiest line is the one that goes "Is it still raining, I hadn't noticed."

I must say the bloke Duck face ends up with is yummy.

Yes, I am now officially in my 20s again!

I think I saw it twice at the cinema. But really the main characters don't behave well - sleeping together when engaged to someone else, dumping at the altar. Yes I know they are plot devices but the years make you view these things differently.

swipeleft · 27/12/2017 01:30

Hugh Grant really was bloody handsome wasn't he? I love it, such a good film and a great look back at bridal fashions too.

Bloomed · 27/12/2017 01:41

I love the fashions and interiors.

Italiangreyhound · 27/12/2017 01:44

I am so sad, just realised it is channel 4, so have switched over to watch the last 40 minutes again!

I love her speech, my dad had died by the time my sister got married and so I can relate to the idea of not having a dad there.

If it wasn't for this bloody film I probably wouldn't have ended up with my ex-husband - all of my friends had seen the film, I was desperate to see it so agreed to go on a date with him. However I would do have my fab two kids
