Lets get the pedantic issue over first- the kids are a few years old and V and A have been married a few years so why jsut THIS xmas did A decide to go the whole hog with everything? he kept going on about it being magical for the children yet this seemed the 1st he bothered with it????

Anyway, cried at Alfred and Miss Coke. what a sweetie she is.

love Peter Firth, and Uncle Leopald is getting better and better.

YAY! Skerrit and Francatelli at last! Did that happen in rl?

the little black girl isa a very good actress, ver convincing.

What a load of schmalzy tosh!

Loved it!BlushGrin

So, Lord Alfred & Miss Coke-heartbreak on the way for her?

I mean she'd made it obvious that she was interested, & she's been a good friend to him, knows that he's gay(bi?) & hasn't blabbed-but is that enough?

Or it's all abit Brideshead & it was just an infatuation?

I have just watched it.

Thought it was a lovely episode.

How much is historically accurate?

Anyone know what the music was that was playing at the servant's ball when Albert was talking to Penge?

QuiQuaiQuod · 27/12/2017 13:24

Diddll It was 'Portsmouth'! But I thought Mike Oldfield wrote that music? So MO wasnt original? or did he go back in time to the Victorian era?Grin.

Oh my goodness you are fantastic!

Thank you!

I thought that it sounded like something that I knew as "modern".

Published 1701!!

I was annoyed about Albert/the script’s treatment of Sarah; he spent the episode glowering in the background at her and not including her in family things, then had the brass neck to tell Victoria she was obviously not settling in and it was a bad idea. Who WOULD settle in treated like that?
Then at the end Victoria ‘sees sense’ and lets her go back to the other family, and hurrah for Prince Albert he was right all along Hmm.

I liked "There's different types of love", yes and you're clearly going to have type where you have a convenient marriage whilst banging the footman.

learn something every day- so Portsmouth is that old!

I also liked 'theres different types of love' .
