Can someone tell me what has happened in first part of Channel 4's Shamed?

Just got home and missed first part of Shamed. Can some one fill me in?

You haven't missed much of a back story. Just flash backs from his relationship and him getting rid for his stag do.

We don't know who the woman is or what their relationship is. She phoned her dad to say she was doing her plan.

Ready not rid.

It just started with the guy leading perfect (possibly slightly creepy filming his fiancé etc) life ready to go on his stag do

He's been kidnapped and doesn't know why

That's all really so far. We don't exactly know who the kidnappers are

Not really sure what is going on and we are halfway through it

Reminiscent of the story of a young woman who performed a sexual act on a group of men in a Magaluf nightclub for a drink.

I suspect that is where this is going.

I turned it over.

It was shit!

It was so shit. It could have been a whole lot better.

It was shit, the main woman was unsympathetic and you should have had sympathy for her.

The whole thing felt rushed and they spent so long getting to the point that it was squeezed into the last 15 minutes.

Also not entirely sure why she picked the other guy, I know she needed someone else there for her end revenge but why randomly pick him.

It had so much potential but the character development was thin and lacking. There was no suspense either. A missed opportunity.
