it was FREAKY and very good.
turns out, robert dunbar/graves-hen was using the black arts to transfer souls.
first, he killed off alisha, who was only using paro for white magik.
he convinced his dying wife's sister rebecca to 'help' her sister, but really he used her blood to put her soul into the dying woman's body, and mary, his wife's soul into the healthy body of her sister.
then he smothered the consumptive rebecca/mary.
but the authorities found out and sentenced him to hang.
he asked for a preacher, and thomas gunn came. he then attacked him and transferred his soul into thomas's body.
meanwhile, his wife mary, in rebecca's body, waited for him at home.
when he didn't show, she hanged herself.
but her soul was still in the house.
robert dunbar then put his soul into the body of harry mcmanus, and later, into ian.
ian/robert dunbar wanted to get back to Glenmore to be reunited with his wife's soul.
so he topped karen's son and used harry mcmanus's money to buy Glenmore House.
douglas figured it all out, that ian was in fact robert dunbar and was going to use karen to house mary's soul.
he frantically phoned karen to tell her the truth, and the ghost of alisha confirmed his conclusions.
karen ran. ian chased her. then told her if she agreed, her soul would be reunited with ben.
when douglas finally got to Glenmore House, it was too late. karen was mary.
as he drove away, however, he saw alisha's vengeful ghost in a window.
