So, just finished watching IKWYA on catch up and have questions and opinions.
Enjoyed this up to episode 10, but when it returned I realised, in general, how bad the acting and the plot was, they were just saying the words with no emotion or expression (I am a fluent Spanish speaker so that helps).

Questions/doubts -
I still dont know if Elias had amnesia or not - maybe just partly?? I did originally think he was pretending to work out who had set him up (i was unsure whether he had done it or not at that point)

  • How was Ramon so ill and having chemo yet so mobile? (My father was having chemo when this show was in season 1 on and he couldnt even stand some days, and in his last few days was sleeping pretty much constantly!)
  • If Elias killed Cortes then got ammesia, how did Alicia know that Elias had murdered him in order to move the body? How did she know where the body was? That has really frustrated me.
  • This also really frustrated me: Why did the police never search Hector's house????

I need answers people, please, if you know the answer to any of the above, let me know, PLEASE!

I think I only watched it because it was in Spanish, and I did enjoy the first 10 episodes - although very far fetched, but I am used to Spanish TV!Wink

We just finished watching this on iPlayer yesterday.
It was a great learning opportunity, as I did an intermediate Spanish course some years ago. I found I could understand some of it with the subtitles, although they do speak very fast.

I think Elias did have amnesia, as otherwise he wouldn't have left Ana in that room with no food for 13 days. Whether you can lose your memory like that and then have it come back to you suddenly, I don't know. He also seemed to remember his way around the city.

I don't know why they didn't search Hector's house.

Alicia found Cortes when she was exploring her father's house (Villa Castro) and moved his body to Heredia's land. (I can't remember why she was at the house).

Re. the chemo I can't comment as I have no experience of someone with that stage of cancer, although I remember my friend's dad was hospitalised for the last six weeks of his life with pancreatic cancer.

Re. the acting, I think Julieta was the best actress!

My questions - did Ana have a sink in the room so she could drink? Surely you can't survive 13 days with no water? Or if you did, you'd be close to death? Was there a toilet?

I have a question re. the language. It's set in Barcelona I think. Would people be speaking Catalan? Or is it like Welsh in that some people speak it and some don't? I noticed the prison door had a sign up in Catalan saying watch your hands.

I think they could have wrapped it up in one series, but have chosen to spin it out for two.

They all seem to have a lot of warm clothes on, more than I'd wear in England in October.
