What happened to Montelbano, has it been axed, and if so why? I was really enjoying the new series.

There were only four new episodes made.

Rumour has it, though, that The Young Montalbano will return to our screens next year.

Thanks, that explains it! How strange. I love Montelbano although the plots are absolute crap and it is incredibly sexist. I just love the scenery and the language, Montelbano and the food!
