I very rarely watch East Enders but happened to switch over just now and see that Major Beck is in it now.

Oh thanks ilove I saw the end of the programme tonight and thought it was him but he looked younger than he did in OG 1 how has he managed that?
Have just watched episode 5as there was nothing else on really enjoyed it so am primed for watchalong if all quiet here😏😏

Ilovelblue · 05/10/2017 22:18

I've just been doing the same Flower whilst catching up on some emails! There are bits of episode 5 I really don't like (mainly Max's pre-wedding speech which makes me feel sick)) and normally fast forward past them so I thought to watch all the way through as a memory jogger!

Good morning
Just checking if there is anybody out there or if there is a problem with the site.

Hopefully here for watchalong tonight if everyone doing other things
So much info this week can’t wait for Tuesday

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2017 09:37

Morning flower. I am here! I will be in position with eyes and ears on at 21:00 hrs.

I see that you and ilove have been doing homework! I haven't watched episode 5 for months although I expect thoughts will come back to me at the time. I have a few favourite little moments from that episode.

It's quite exciting waiting out for Tuesday. I think I might put the subtitles on just to make sure I don't miss anything as MK and LP do tend to mumble a bit and speak very quickly. I've seen the trailer several times and to be honest if I hadn't concentrated really hard I wouldn't have understood what she said to that new recruit.

Interestingly I was doing a little google search and came across some reviews for series 1 and series 2 both from the Telegraph and in both instances they said that the great action was let down by the script. A little harsh I thought, particularly as series 1 gave us so many favourite lines. Apart from "All's well in the world" and the dreaded "ASAP" I can't think of much from series 2 that I can incorporate into my daily life unlike series 1 - if I started yelling ASAP at my colleagues they would soon be giving me the evils which interestingly is an anagram of Elvis! Does anyone think that Elvis actually isn't his first name? Could it be an army nick name thing? I mean who really names their child Elvis? At that, I find myself needing to look it up on the most popular children's names website. Will be back!

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2017 09:49

Well, apparently there were 30 boys called Elvis in 2016 compared with 7 in 1996. Assuming that Elvis (Harte) is approximately 28-30 years of age I'm guessing there weren't many called Elvis when he was fictitiously born. Clearly his parents liked to be trendsetters, particularly as the name Elvis is apparently of Scandinavian origin and they are Italian or were they just fans!

Alwaysfrank · 08/10/2017 10:52

Morning all! I casually dropped series 3 into conversation this morning, and husband said how much he'd preferred S1 with Molly and her cockney character. Maybe it's time to bring my secret DVD out of hiding and watch it again in public? He then reminisced quite excitedly about seeing "that actor on stage"!!!

Since last series, on account of getting in a bit of a plot muddle with something like The Missing, we've got into the habit of recording things and saving them up to watch over the course of a week. I really don't want to do that with OG as I want to be able to join in the thread! I have managed to make an exception to this with Cold Feet on the basis that it is light and fluffy- so am hoping that I can persuade dh that OG is in that category. Otherwise I will see you all in a few weeks!

Have you made your strictly bets ilove? I'm really liking Aston, he's amazing. I wonder if he's another stage school kid?

TRish47 · 08/10/2017 10:57

My goodness Rhu I do love your research. I am just so envious Envyof you ladies being able to watch it on Tuesday. I will be watching this forum with interest, just to get all of the reviews on the series. I agree about the subtitles I understand Elvis but find Georgie difficult. It could be that I have very little interest in her. I have been totally spoilt by Molly! But Elvis is very much on my radar.
I am looking forward to hearing this forums views on the CJ/Molly situation.
Enjoy your watch along, it is bed time for me.

Hi again,
We've been out in the garden all morning I don't think anything is going to stop growing this year. We seem to be chopping things back every time there is a nice day.
Not sure whether DH will watch OG3 or not, hopefully not, as he wasn't that interested in OG 2. Much easier to drool if on your own.
Our garden loves fuschias cant believe they are still like this into October

Looks as if I am pretending to be a STAG!! See you tonight.

Ilovelblue · 08/10/2017 14:27

Afternoon everyone. Yes, I'll be ready and waiting for the final watchalong. This is not one of my favourite episodes of this series so I will have to concentrate harder than usual!

Always - we've picked two of our contenders so far and placed the bets but are undecided on the last two. (We put £2.50 each on each one = £20 in total). I thought Aston whatshisface was excellent last night though I have to confess I hadn't a clue who he was supposed to be. He's one of our bets and Alexandra Burke is the other. I'm thinking of the guy from East Enders plus Joe McFadden from Holby but not sure if my neighbour thinks the same. Must ask her later.

TRish we are all really excited for Tuesday. I'm not convinced it's actually Elvis and Georgie who are difficult to understand in themselves, just that the sound quality isn't great at all. There have been a couple of other series I've struggled with as well.

I do hope we get some of the previous posters back on here after the first screening. I am sure there will be some great fans and some who are less than enamoured!

Actually, I'm just staring at the menu of the DVD and thinking to myself how useful it would be to have one of those vest things on to carry all my little bits and pieces about the place you know - phone, pen, yes big scissors, cellotape, a snack or two in case I get peckish, couple of paracetamol, a few tissues etc, etc...

Rhubarb01 · 08/10/2017 20:58

A kind of hands-free handbag!
