By the way, my ex-boss from 20+ years ago, who was a Wing Commander in the RAF, was stationed out in Aden.

Just finished watching 'The Last Post' and really enjoyed it. Jessica Raine suits her role well, must be fun to play a hard drinking, rule flouting rather angry woman. I have to keep reminding myself that Jessie Buckley is really Irish - I remember her as the girl who came second on 'I'd do Anything'. Well she's doing alright now. Will definitely be watching this one.

Loved The Last Post. Flipping brilliant. Having grown up in the colonies (a couple of decades later), they got the accommodation spot on, and the uniforms reminded me of FILs photos of his days in the Kenyan regiment in the late 50s.

Really enjoyed that watchalong/typalong last night Rhu and Flower. I've just read it all back and it's made me laugh, especially the parts where Rhu and I were in total agreement over Elvis. Haha. There were a couple of things I'd never even thought about until last night and goodness knows, I've watched it often enough.

I liked The Last Post too. It's time we had some decent dramas on TV. It's like waiting for a bus..... nothing, then two come along together. Only a week to wait until OG3 airs. Yippee! Actually, three because I've been watching Liar on ITV.

Afternoon. Just popping in at lunchtime. I got my copy of RT today for the week starting 7th October so eagerly turned to the 10th to read what was available on OG. Well, somewhat disappointingly despite being Pick of the Day the RT editor has continued where she left off after series 1 and 2 with her sneering preview of episode 1 of series 3. Apparently it is 'soapy and soft-centred' and wait for it Two Section are 'gormless squaddies'. She is also somewhat mystified by why OG is a success - clearly she ought to go to Specsavers because I can think of two very good reasons why it's a success!
