I think you've posted this in the wrong section

nicole97 · 10/09/2017 13:17

Oh! Hi, PaperdollCartoon! I have said I am a newbie here. What section my post should be in? Thanks!

Very odd first post. Do you consider yourself ugly or are you hoping some of us will admit to being/looking ugly and tell you what the advantages are?

CeeBeeBee · 10/09/2017 13:20

This is the Telly Adficts topic. Try Chat.

Addicts.

HeartStrings · 10/09/2017 13:21

Can I ask why you're asking OP? You don't think this little of yourself do you?

nicole97 · 10/09/2017 13:26

Dear CeeBeeBee! I am sorry. It is evident, I posted my message in a wrong place. As for being ugly, I do not, and nobody else considers me ugly. Neither I estimate someone ugly. I just had a talk with a mom recently and she said that to be ugly is profitable very often. Is it so? I need some facts as a proof.

I have been asking myself, but could not discover any. So, I ask those who are older and more experienced. I think it is normal. Although, in a wrong section of the chat.

How odd.

HeartStrings · 10/09/2017 13:37

My definition of 'ugly' is the way someone acts, their personality. The people who are bullies, the nasty people in this world are the ugly ones and there's no advantage of that!

OrphanAccount · 10/09/2017 13:38

Well, this is making perfect sense. Confused

nicole97 · 10/09/2017 13:49

I agree, there are no advantages in ugly behavior but I just meant the external ugliness of a person. Say, any physical damage or congenital disproportion. Or asymmetry. Whatever. How may it be profitable? To star in the horror movies? Or in other exotic performances? I can not even suggest.

Is this research for an essay or something?

SunsetBeetch · 10/09/2017 13:56

Well as someone who was a very ugly duckling and then blossomed when I got older and am now average; I did not see any advantages to being ugly. The name calling from kids and adults, being treated as 'lesser is not fun to say the least.

In my experience too people treat you better if you're attractive. Not just men either. I can't remember who said it and I'm paraphrasing here, but 'Beautiful people think the world is a lot nicer than it is rings very true to me

On the whole, I think being moderately attractive is the best. Less creepy men trying to chat you up!

Could you expand on what your friend means OP? It sounds bizarre to me

nicole97 · 10/09/2017 13:57

No, not for an essay. Or whatever else. I just want to clear up with this issue. Once and forever. To have arguments if a talk touches this subject. What advantages? I wanted to hear: one, two, three, four ....That is all.

PacificDogwod · 10/09/2017 13:57

Define 'ugly'.

Hmm
newtlover · 10/09/2017 14:01

do you expect talk to touch this subject?
I don't think I've ever had a conversation about this

Theseaweed · 10/09/2017 14:03

To star in the movies or other exotic performances. Are you for real?

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 10/09/2017 14:03

Could you not have asked the 'mom'? Confused

nicole97 · 10/09/2017 14:04

To define 'ugly' may take time. I have to concentrate to give the most precise definition. As to my own point of view.

OP posts:
SerfTerf · 10/09/2017 14:08

Much, much easier to ask the person who said it to you, no?

I have asked my mom already. She has answered that the guys will not chase a girl if she is not sufficiently attractive. Or even ugly. And that pushed me to ponder on her words.
As for me, I have never called or considered someone "ugly". Although I have met pretty many people who were aesthetically unattractive. But it did not bother me at all, they were just normal, benevolent people. In no way, I could say they were ugly. Just looking a bit strange and different.
