Yes I thought she was amazing ,what talent and her sister too !
I'm surprised not more discussion on MN actually.
Bump..

EnidNextDoor · 05/09/2017 10:24

I heard her on the radio last week.

storynanny · 05/09/2017 11:33

I was in awe of her. Even when she stopped the rehearsals to correct the conductor and players I thought she was a true prodigy.

Bearing in mind I did not see the programme, I only heard her on the radio, I'm not sure that I have the full picture that you have. I found her a bit... much.

I fully accept I am alone in that.

I thought she was amazing - I couldn't keep my eyes off her. When she created that whole piece out of four random notes - wow.

I suspect she would find it difficult to fit in with other children of her own age, though.

elevenclips · 05/09/2017 13:37

She's an absolute genius. She's great.

Fitting in with other children is overrated anyway. There are plenty of 11yos who she could fit in with. The ones she couldn't fit in with are probably quite mean. My 11yo has a friend who is exceptionally gifted and he has no problems chatting with my kids and other kids. The problems he encounters are mainly from jealous bullies and bitter adults. And it's their problem, not the prodigy boy's problem.

storynanny · 05/09/2017 14:26

I fully expected to find her a bit too much also, but her sheer genius won me over.
Not sure what a music teacher could actually teach her now though. Presumably she wont need to do the conventional music degree route as she has moved far beyond that level already.
I think we will hear a lot about this amazing musician in years to come.
I taught a level music many years ago for a few years and at that level they are still learning the rudiments of simple 4 part harmony and basic accompaniments to melodies in their theory studies.

I saw this and thought she came across as a lovely child as well as being a musical genius. I liked how she reworked Cinderella and talked about Mozart's sister being overlooked. Did anyone else think she sounded like she had a German accent?

My son talks a lot about his imaginary country and its language too so I should start writing it down.

Her younger sister is obviously a talented musician too but I wonder if it will be hard being in her famous sister's shadow.

storynanny · 06/09/2017 19:49

I think her accent was from her father (israeli)

I don't know if she's bilingual as well - that would be another string to her bow!

storynanny · 06/09/2017 23:10

Yes amazing. I belong to a community choir which features a young a level music student as the accompanist. His skill is phenomenal and apparently is a genius mathematician also. Im so in awe of talented youngsters.
