Probably a miniseries, 3 or 4 episodes, about a woman Labour activist and then MP who joins the party as a young radical, and gradually gets more centrist and what would later be called Blairite. I think it was around 1993 or 1994, though it's not unknown for me to be out by a few years! I mentioned it in a conversation at work today, but it didn't ring a bell for anyone else.

Our friends in the north was later wasn't it?

Was it 'The Project'?

Similar idea, but set in 1993ish and shown in 2000ish.

Thanks, but definitely not Our Friends in the North. I've looked up The Project (hadn't heard of it before) and it wasn't that either. I think there was a theme in it about the old 'hard left' being male-dominated which was one of the reasons the main character turned to a modernised version.

Yep I was thinking GBH
Robert Lindsay was in it

Was it Bill Brand will the Jack Shepherd playing the part of Brand and Cherie Lungie playing the woman M.P.?

morningtoncrescent62 · 30/08/2017 09:55

No, it wasn't GBH (brilliant series, that), and I had to look Bill Brand up because I don't remember it, but I don't think it's that either.
