...came out 23 years ago.

Clare Danes was exceptionally good in this; she portrayed teenage angst brilliantly.

And Jared Leto was GORGEOUS!! I loved that show.

TheSecondOfHerName · 26/08/2017 11:17

He was very good at leaning on things.

Oh my God I loved that! I wanted to be Clare Danes.

serialtester · 26/08/2017 11:33

I so wanted him to be my boyfriend.

TheWildRumpyPumpus · 26/08/2017 11:34

Favourite TV program ever...

Strummerville · 26/08/2017 11:36

Just read an article about this in the Guardian today. I loved MSCL as a teen (was 15 when it aired, so just the right age) and wished my life was as "so-called" as Angela's! Grin Her clothes, her hair, her cool friends...Jordan Catalano...why weren't the boys at my school like him?

I watched it again a few years ago and thought it stood up very well for being 20 years old, though this time around I really found myself identifying with Angela's poor mum - she was doing her best Grin

23 years?! It feels like yesterday. I was obsessed with this show. I always wanted to be Rayanne but was more of a Brian.

Strummerville that happened to me when I rewatched it. I found myself sympathising with Patty and her attempts at discipline. Must be getting old!

jesterkat · 26/08/2017 11:55

I may have the DVD box set!

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 26/08/2017 14:25

I too loved this show, I had a poster of Jordan Catalano from Bliss magazine sellotaped onto my school file!

I feel old! Bloody loved that show. It's a pity they didn't make more. Claire Danes was fantasic unit. Her style was fab.

thepatchworkcat · 26/08/2017 14:28

Loved it too!

RidingWindhorses · 27/08/2017 22:31

I wasn't in my 20s when it came out but I loved it anyway. It was my teenage years exactly. I had a Rayanne and a Jordan. And a mother like Angela's.

SuffolkBumkin · 27/08/2017 22:37

Rayanne Graff certainly cleaned up her act!

I loved Ricky Vazquez, I still quote him now

"Can you,uh like, just think of a sentence, and,um,just like......go with it?"

SenoritaViva · 27/08/2017 22:46

Me too. I always wished I was as cool and free as them (lived in a remote area and packed off to boarding school instead).

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 27/08/2017 23:02

Jordan Catalano...why weren't the boys at my school like him?

I hear ya! Most of the boys at my school were total Brians.

It was a flippin' outrage that they only ever made one series. If that was today, it would've been picked up by Netflix.

RidingWindhorses · 27/08/2017 23:05

Cool and free was over-rated. It was stressful - my friend irl did have a drug problem and a mum with no boundaries, and heartbreaking - the on again off again thing with Jordan type boy - he was called Joe. I'm glad it's over.
