I hated this. The story was far fetched - she went absolutely crazy because she found 1 hair on her husband's scarf! Me and DH both thought it was going to be that she was having some sort of breakdown but no she was just loony.

I also think Suranne is a terrible actress. Yes I know she won an award but I really don't know how especially when she was up against Sheridan Smith.

lightcola · 27/08/2017 17:00

Just binge watched it. It's so good. I like the fact you don't really know if she's having a breakdown or just being very calculated.

PinkHeart5911 · 27/08/2017 17:02

She was clearly a very unhinged women.

I wonder if in series 2 she will of got professional help or be a bunny boiler ex, probably the predictable latter

MyGastIsFlabbered · 27/08/2017 17:43

I watched this but found it quite odd, I'm not sure how they'll get a second series out of it.

BuzzKillington · 27/08/2017 22:14

I didn't see it when it was on but have watched it on the iplayer.

It was so daft! The plot was just farcical. It was quite entertaining though - but I suspect we weren't supposed to be laughing.

buggerthebotox · 29/08/2017 09:48

I wasn't keen, but watched it to the end. It's one of those programmes where no-one has many redeeming features. Got a bit tedious after a while. I couldn't even take to the son, or care what happened to him.

What fodder will there be for a second series, I wonder?

MusicToMyEars800 · 29/08/2017 12:51

I enjoyed the first series, Gemma was a bit unhinged in the last episode, especially where she made out like she had harmed their son.

In the snippets of the 2nd series, it looks like her Ex and the OW move back and have the baby, he looks like he is back to claim what he can.

I wonder if Gemma is over it, and has moved on.

Flobulous · 29/08/2017 16:49

I liked the start of the first series but it soon descended into Eastenders style dullness. Not sure how they can spin a further series out of it.

MusicToMyEars800 · 29/08/2017 20:31

The second series is set 2 years on from the first, Simon and Kate are now married with a child and move back to the same town.

So this one will be all about Gemma channelling her hatred for him into whatever it is she chooses, and it will be showing they trying to co parent even though they hate each other.

cheapskatemum · 29/08/2017 21:02

There was an epilogue scene at the end of series 1 with Simon, Kate and the baby in a town centre, which I'm sure was Hitchin.

PresentlyTense · 30/08/2017 15:08

I thought this was really dull, not at all helped by Suranne Jones who's a terrible actress.

AlphaBites · 06/09/2017 10:08

Anyone watch last night ? At first I thought they were trying to portray her as the stereotypical desperate ex, but then it twisted and I'm interested now ...I loved the first series.
